Like many have already pointed out, Bio's resources are stretched thin at this point. In some info floating around the web about TOR, it's been noted that they are sending more personel to that studio to finish the game..

Why would the create a new ME game at this point? Unless its purely an announcement for a game that is going to release much later

I really can't believe this game will be in Mass Effect universe. From the images, the only thing which seems to have anything resembling Mass Effect is the rifle, the rest is just too different.

Well, it's coming one year since the release of Mass 2.

I think and hope that it isn't Mass 3. Way too soon for that game.

First Contact war... Could be but honestly, a bit meh for me, don't think it holds much value as an interesting setting.



The rifle does look like that dlc gun that I never bought.

I would actually give that a try if it was made by Bioware. I absolutely hated Alpha Protocol for the most part, but I also hate Obsidian.

Oh, i loved Alpha Protocol. It's a shame that the game didn't do very well commercialy and wasn't especially well recieved by critics.



I think that there is something to the Obsidian link that some have tried to draw by pointing out the appearance of the New Vegas cowboy in the trailer.

Just because the game could be announced now doesn't mean it is right around the corner from release. It could be announced and not come out for another two years, it doesn't mean BioWare's rushing anything, as some forum users seem to think.
