No he's not. He's just top-listed officer for Zakera Ward, althought we can't be even sure about that - he might be just the chief of this very C-sec Post. The Executor resides on Presidiuma anyway.

He kills Pallin...and Udina says "I have a new empty spot to fill...you just took it." I would say thats fairly obvious.

Haven't read the whole thread yet, so apologies if somebody has already done this, but assuming the numbers provided for the bar code thngs are correct 55.845 and -128.5 I checked the longditude and latitude coordinates and it's in the middle of nowhere - omineca park and protected area in British Colubia, Canada, so nothing there.

55.845 is the atomic MASS of iron, but the coldest temprature measured on earth seems to be -128.6!

Lastly - that is definetly an Incisor, could of course be lazy design or time contraints making them use an existing model for the promo, but it does hint at it being in the mass effect universe.

1. why is Chris Priestly "Evil"? 2. I HOPE is it Mass Effect...weather it actually is or not is another story. it's introduced as "From the makers of Mass Effect and Dragon Age." So that could indicate another IP. But thats cooler then saying "From Bioware!" Considering people might care more about those game titles rather then the developer's name.

Indeed I said something similar in the last page of comments.

He looks like a Marine (possibly of the space variety) to me. They all look the same, really.

But no... I don't see much of a resemblance to Shepard otherwise.

"Decoding that we’re left with 55.845, which is, as you’ll all be shouting at your monitor, the atomic weight of iron. And iron makes steel. And steel is a word in "Shattered Steel". And Shattered Steel is a 1996 BIOWARE GAME ABOUT BATTLING MECHS." from rockpapershotgun.com

No other website apparently caught on to the Aequitas thing. And I wasn't going to register at any of them to point it out. Their loss, really.

I recall David Gaider saying once "you guys always work everything up into something big only to be disapointed when its not." Basicly the fans always WWWAAAYYY over think things. For example that planet reference....I seriously doubt that means anything.

Oh, I stand behind my Aequitas "analysis." It fits the data points we've been given rather too accurately for it to be a coincidence, but I didn't draw any further conclusions based on it. Only that the hints seem to be referring to it.

At least much more logically and directly than any of this Vostok or "lake in Canada" nonsense.

I just took what people had translated from the barcodes and did a 2 minute Google search based on my initial intuition that the hints were referring to attributes of a planet. I was actually surprised that they referred to a place (Aequitas) so perfectly. Hence my enthusiasm for the theory.

It certainly doesn't demand such incredible leaps of logic as the ones claiming its a preview of some Shattered Steel game.

That's what I'm thinking.  Video game companies recycling artwork, animations, and models between games is certainly nothing new.  Look at Blizzard with Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft.

What.

How does WoW use WC3 animations and models!?

Perhaps not...however that trailer is clearly this man sitting in a skyscrapper overlooking a totaly ruined city...and considering there are not cities on that planet that in itself is a leap, also considering he looks nothing at all like Shepard.

Could you link to where your Aequitas theory was? I'm interested in reading it if you don't mind.

I don't think it does.  It does recycle artwork though.  Certain icons appear in both games.  As for animations, look no further than the Sims franchise.

I don't buy that it's a city at all.  A destroyed facility?  Sure.  A city?  Not sold.  And yes, I've seen the high res screenshots.

That being said, the barcode hints and the video do not have to be pointing towards the same location.   My theory only uses the video's Incisor rifle as a hint that it's in the Mass Effect universe (I don't subscribe to the "re-used item" theory).  The game could take place on more than one planet so while the hints might genuinely be referring to Aequitas, the planet in the video might be entirely different.  They aren't mutually exclusive.

The first two clues (plus a Mass Effect rifle) point to Aequitas, a planet in Mass Effect 2 known for its "Iron Canyons" and a surface temperature of -128.5F (-89C).

It was also the site of a sidemission, N7: Abandoned Mine in which a Reaper indoctrination device turned a research team into husks & abominations.

Here's the description:
Home
to the famous Iron Canyons, Aequitas has reddish iron oxide dust (hematite) covering much of its surface and significant blue cobalt deposits that freckle the terrain. Turian explorers have discovered hot springs in the polar ice caps, heated by magma in the planet's crust. In a strange combination of science and hucksterism a small facility exports water from these springs, which is bottled and sold as having medicinal properties. The funds are then used to maintain a research station, which has discovered some fossil evidence that Aequitas once harbored microscopic life, based on deoxyribonucleic acids in these springs.
At first glance I thought it was Jason Statham. Which almost lead to to slit my wrists because I really wouldnt like him as Shepard in the movie. However on zooming the image I saw it wasnt.

It's crossed my mind many times that this could be a young ZAEED. Which would rule, but I highly doubt it.

There a large bridge and a river running through a destroyed city....this is plainly obvious...and I hope you realize that rifle model exsists in real life...it's not a ME exclusive...

I left out that just because Shepard isn't shown in the clip doesn't mean that Shepard can't be involved, or it can't be part of the Mass Effect storyline. It could be similar to Jacob being the protagonist of Mass Effect galaxy. The identity of the character in the video could be anybody, even some mook Shepard shoots with a pistol. We can't know. That's why I just decided to take the Incisor (something that objectively is the Incisor model, re-used asset or not) and the given barcode hints in my guesswork.

Everything else is too open to interpretation.

Depends on distance and perspective.  You see a destroyed city and a large bridge.  I see a walkway, a courtyard, wall, and a destroyed facility.  It works as a city, to me, if the guy is sitting in the middle of a skyscraper.  To me it looks like he's sitting in a 2-3 story building looking down at a courtyard. But like I said, that doesn't matter.  The video and the clues do not have to be pointing to the same place.

And if they wanted to use a non-Incisor rifle model they could have, but they didn't.  I'm assuming they did it for a reason.  I could be wrong. But all of the other theories I've read about what the barcode hints are pointing to are borderline ludicrous.
