Weren't we supposed to get some announcements from BioWare today on this?

Where did you hear that from?

Of course, now I can't find any links...I could've sworn I read yesterday that BioWare said they'd make 2 announcements today.

Unless it's a flashback or something, I doubt it. It doesn't fit the theme. Look at the environment, the textures, it doesn't fit.

guy could easily be a companion character on some war torn world that shepard will meet in ME3.

I'm hoping that's what it is, but most things point otherwise.

like what?  all i see are a bunch of crazy ideas formed off coincidenses and wishful (or) pessimistic thinking.

He could be on a world under Reaper attack. It could be the First Contact War (set in 2157). However, the Incisor is described as a 'new wave of military and police sniper rifles' in ME2 (set in 2185). It's all very confusing. But I'm sure its ME-related. Plus I'm tagged in that photo, the Incisor must be important! :P

^yea peoples hopes and fears are really the only things getting posted, and why not right?
I will admit when i first seen the teaser picture I immediately thought of the incisor rifle without looking at any comments. So that's some of my wishful thinking..

I wish it would be Shattered Steel 2 that would be awesome

And it would prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Bioware only listens to me.

ok so lets work this out
1) the first picture is the binary code for 55.854
2) this is the mass of iron, abbriviated as FE
3) second code is for -128.5 F which is the coldest temp ever recorded on earth
4) the first to letters of coldest temperature is CT
5) take MASS FE and add CT we get MASS FECT
6) flip FE and you get MASS EFECT

so my guess its mass effect related :) probably something like first contact war or some conrad verner stuff i dunno

So I read the first three pages of this thread and couldn't believe what I was reading. It's not Cold Steel or Iron Heat or Ferrous Extreme, nor is it Shattered Earth. This is not a new IP...

there is a *much simpler* name for this mystery game that you have overlooked!

1. The weapon is a Mass Effect weapon. That means this game is probably related to ME. It's either ME3, which would be the most obvious, or it could be a harbinger of the coming of the Mass Effect film. I'd go so far as to say it's an announcement of the animated film (guessing), but the teaser clearly states that it's a game.

2. The first glyph relates the mass of iron. It does not mean 'iron', but instead it means 'mass.' It's like you guys don't want it to mean 'mass!'

3. Temperature effects our planet. Temperature is also an effect of global weather patterns. Temperature is an effect, and it has an effect, a heating effect, or a cooling effect. Extreme temperatures are not the meaning here, instead the meaning is 'effect.' Pretty obvious to me. I suppose it would be slightly more difficult to figure out if we didn't already know the name....

Mass Effect!

Nice one! I wasn't seeing it as a cypher puzzle.
But I'll go one further and say that you missed the E in ECT for Extreme Cold Temperature.

It's Mass Effect: Corporate Warfare. The guy in the trailer/pics is a Binary Helix commando among the ruins of Dhazil, Garvug's capital city after orbital bombardment.

If you follow the CDN updates you'll know what I'm on about

You may be on to something here. And im a big fps/ tps fan so this excites me. I also like a deep story. I HOPE they make a mass effect RTS in the future. I love scifi rts games except starcraft. Too much fantacy mixed in though warhammer 40k games r fun. I can see the rts broken down to alliance, with shepard hero character, heritic geth with saren, regular geth with legion, Citedel council races maybe, Mercenary expansion with suns, eclipse and bloodpack,. That would be interesting. Mas effect holds so much potential for unlimited possabilities. MMO, movie, large scale fps like battlefield with vehicles n stuff. OHHHH starcruiser command game. as i said endless. lol mass effect survival horror game with husks. Trapped on a dark planet, whole colony looks abandoned and theres krogan, turian husks too n stuff. thorian creepers. as i keep emphasizing. endless. This is all off the top of my head imagine if i have an inovative concept team.

2) Doppler Effect.
3) Doppler ryms with toppler.
4) Toppler starts with T.
5) My name starts with T.

*GASP* I created Mass Effect.

dont be rediculous.  as much as id love for bioware to make a proper sequel to that underated game, i see no reason to believe this is it.  for one thing, its way too soon IF there even was going to be one.  the game was released just half a year ago for cryingo ut loud.  plus, Sega own the rights to that game, not EA.  And it was a failed IP, as regreatful as that sounds, so why would EA bother buying it?

theres plenty of logic against an alpha protocol game, and i see no evidence supporting it.
