To come out, yes. To be teased, no. Assassin's Creed 2 came out Nov. 17, and one year later Assassin's Creed Brotherhood came out.
Besides, Bioware is better the Ubisoft, so if they aren't in the alpha stage of the game then they will be in a month or five.

Maybe, but ME2 wasn't teased until over a year after ME1's release, and with ME2 PS3 on our heels I cant see BioWare/EA wanting to announce the third game prior to that release.
ME spin-off maybe, but I dont think this will be ME3. I'd be happy to be wrong

Off course, but not too early to have an approximative release date, or a nice trailer that shows if some of the ME2 characters will be aboard of the next game.

Yeah well the newest trend in computer gaming is to announce games two full years before they come out.. look at Gears 3.

There is a quote from one of the ME2 devs floating around some place saying that they were using the same engine for ME3 that they had used fro ME2. I don't know if that has been discredited yet, but if so that takes a "chunk" of the dev time out right away, doesn't it? How much time goes into getting to know a new engine, then making the tools to be used to make the game... All that is done already for ME3. They can just plow right into making the content. Hell, they even know the story...
Just FYI, Bioware didn't make the engine used in ME1/2. It's a pre-created engine by Epic Games called the Unreal Engine 3. They might have modified it a bit, but it's not an in house engine. So that wasn't an issue with production time. It may have cost them some time to learn about it, but that'd be for ME1.
I wouldn't say it's too early for an ME3 announcement due to the fact that they've got all of the assets from ME2 that are reusable supposing they're modular, and from the looks of it they are. All they have to do is create new assets for new unique environments, or characters, etc... So the development time shouldn't/won't be as long as ME2 considering they've got a good foundation. This is based on observant speculation and the statement from Bioware that ME3 won't take long to create. Also, they stated in December 2009 that they had begun working on the story.
However, I doubt that whatever this teaser is for is ME3. Simply because the tone/environment doesn't match up. It could be mass effect related given the incisor, but I'm not holding my breath on ME3.

I was going over Kasumi's mission a little while ago and a thought occured to me; perhaps the Statue of Liberty being torn up and in that vault/collection is indicative of Earth having a "not so bright future" and could explain why the environment seems war-torn/post-apocalyptic around our mystery man. Afterall, didn't a dev state that Kasumi's dlc was a hint to what earth was like?
Could be! I thought it was a shout out to 'Planet of the Apes'.......

It's Unreal Engine 3, which wasn't made by BioWare. It was also used for ME1. Making an engine was never a part of the ME workflow.RinpocheSchnozberry wrote...

I find it surprising that very few people actually know details like that. It's like being into cars, you have to know how they work, how they're made. No different with video games.

Edit: Well we did this during the LoTSB days, so what about now? Who's up for a suicide mission?
So anyone? Anyone? Had a pretty good team last time. Too bad some of them didn't make it.

So if it's the same as Unreal, can we edit the Mass Effect 1/2 levels, content, skins, etc, etc, with the Unreal engine tools? If so, how come there aren't fan created missions and planets out there?
