Well I was looking at the comments of the picture on Facebook, and some other random places, and people were hoping that it could be a game about the First Contact War. I doubt it, but it's open to speculation, right? Haha

I really really wish it would be, but I doubt they would go that direction right now. It would probably go: ME1, ME2, ME3 then FCW.



With the incisor in the picture, the continuity of the time line wouldn't point to FCW.

Perhaps it's an alternate point of view from Eden Prime? We know that there were marines there that we didn't see; Jacob was one of them. There we have the Mass Effect universe, humans, a human-looking settlement, war, and access to new-ish weapons (like the incisor, or maybe one of its predecessors.) ME2 also mentions that there was a war with the Geth for a short while between the two games. This could be about that. Whatever it is, I can wait a few weeks to find out.

Earth never got destroyed in the ME universe and even if it's a spin-off i doubt they would go that off canon.
