Nobody truly knows anything at this point, we're just speculating, but that is one possible interpretation of the 'red herring'. There's a lot of connections to Mass Effect so far, and some might be red herrings. The Incisor Rifle, for example. Perhaps it was deliberately put there to throw our attention, when in reality the game is not Mass Effect related at all.

It was on some no-name website written by some guy who kept referring to his 'sources', talking about VGA rumours, when 99% of the info he posted was stuff already announced or revealed. I wouldn't look too much into what he was saying. Kotaku's speculation is far more credible.

Again, herrings are used for 'fish 'n' ships' (UK/London) as far as I know. So maybe the fact that it's a red herring is a red herring.

I really don't see the point in teasing something in order to attract a certain crowd and then announce something that is not the crowd's interest, so I guess it will be ME related somehow.

Now that I think about it, the guy is definitely full of it. His 'source' telling him a new Resident Evil is to be revealed is a lie. The zombie game turned out to be Prototype 2. So yeah, he's just making things up. Ignore him.

Well, for what its worth, all these teasers have been posted in the Dragon Age forum as well, and on the Dragon Age twitter. They've never been specifically targetted towards the Mass Effect audiance.

I meant that the Incisor and few of the binary codes are clearly pointing  at ME, and 99% of the rumors around in the web are linking the teasers to ME.

Of course, I agree. But what if this latest code suggests all these hints, all these rumours, are nothing more than red herrings?
