Perhaps the announcement by Sony Russia that it will be ME3 is the red herring? Or maybe the announcement by Kotaku that its an ME spin-off game is the red herring? Something that hasn't come directly from Bioware.

Maybe the red herring is a red herring! Their idea is to make you think that one of their clues has thrown you off, but in reality you're being thrown off by the latest clue without even knowing it. Wrap your heads around that one.

If this is supposed to be some sort of viral hype machine type of thing, then I get the feeling it's failing miserably. I was intrigued for a few days, now I just couldn't care less. Bioware could learn a thing of two from Bungie in this regard.
