I really hope this is a false rumor. I don't want MP anywhere near ME3.

Am I the only one that noticed the MGS Peace Walker logo in the video Bioware posted on their ME2 Facebook page today? It flashed on the screen when he was talking about the location of the game. Peace Walker takes place in Costa Rica.

Yea, noticed that too... weird... if it is pertinent, then the location could be of significance, or the type of game it was compared to console MGS

Actually, I'd say Halo has a much more in-depth story than most FPS franchises bother with. In-depth gameplay, on the other hand... not so much. Though the simplicity is attractive in some sense. But the one and only thing that made the game really stand out in my opinion was the custom game modes as seen in Halo 1, but the matchmaking in its successors took away from that.

If that were to be true then I'd like to say "know your audience, Bioware" but the sad part is that I'm actually afraid that I would find myself feeling very lonely.

If ME3 is multi-player then I at least hope it's simply an option and not required. I played Halo Reach on single player and had fun and I played through the campaign again on a harder difficulty in coop mode with a friend and had just as much fun. I wouldn't terribly mind that in ME3. Just so long as the single player mode is solid I don't care if there is a multi-player mode as well. I might even give it a try.

I personally wont mind either way whether ME 3 has multiplayer. I know the sp is going to be amazing whether multiplayer is there or not.



However, that being said this forum is going to be unbearable to be around for the next few months if it is. The belly aching on the dragon age 2 side is annoying enough as it is. So just to keep a certain degree of sanity around here I truly hope there is no MP because I like this forum and I don't want to have to watch the fallout of a multiplayer announcement. So much fan rage... so much...

That's footage from ME2. In fact, all the footage in there is from games that are already released. Good teaser, Spike.

How typical. Release a teaser vid and put footage of ME2 right behind the line 'will be released'
 
Ah well, it might put the rumours to rest that Bioware will not release anything that is Mass Effect related.

Same here.  ME1 and ME2 were roughly 30-40 hour games and I hope ME3 is as well in at least single player mode let alone MP mode.

I'd actually like COOP multiplayer where a buddy could control a team mate on missions. It might be a little awkward during the relationships stuff, though. And for PCs it would be a bit less practical. But I'd love to play with a friend.

I have faith in bioware, im sure that if they make MP for ME3 then they will do it right and still keep ths main story as awesome as possible.

I got to disagree with ya here; Bioware usually makes awsome co-op in their games. As long as Shepard is still there, I don't mind if they introduse a new character to fight along side him.

Joystiq has learned from a trusted source that BioWare's enigmatic teaser from last month represents the first glimpse of Mass Effect 3. As many have guessed, the third installment looks to feature something brand new to the series: multiplayer. We're currently unable to confirm that the multiplayer component will be part of the game's unveiling at the upcoming Spike Video Game Awards. 

In short ME CoD , as some assumed and most feared.  There is no other reason to put MP in the last chapter of the thrilogy. but then again that is the road the devs always wanted to take


Its really a shame how fast EA can destroy a company that made good games, but then again all good things end
