Don't hold your breath on it. I doubt Bioware would want to really ****** off a lot of fans on the last installment of the trilogy. They did that already with ME2.

i'm....excited as all hell, but disappointed at the same time....



i definately wanted earth. i did NOT want the entire game to focus on earth...which is what im seeing here. dont disappoint me Bioware.....not only will the last game of the trilogy suck miserably...

....you'll also need to deal with getting a two-mile restraining order on fans who also happen to shoot guns competitively.

The only way a MP could be pissing off fans is if it would lessen the singleplayer experience.
If Bioware is confident that they can pull both off they probably will do it. I don't see a reason not to in that case.
But I'd rather take a massive effort on the singleplayer side than multiplayer of any kind any day.

@AngusJimiKeith: I wouldn't worry about that. If the game was focusing only on earth it wouldn't be Mass Effect, it kinda goes against the whole thing. Earth will probably be the setting for the massive ending battle.

I've got my bets on opening unexplored mass relays in ME3 and exploring unknown parts of the galaxy in search for allies and weapons.

ah well, lets hope NATO and the former soviet countries are still hoarding nukes...if that doesnt cause the reapers to s*** their mechanical pants, nothing will.

I know exactly what you mean; both ME and ME 2 trailers didn't focus on a single planet. I much rather explore the fictions universe of Mass Effect than play on the planet I'm already living on.

However, it was an excellent teaser! (At least it wasn't an announcement for the Bioware Bazaar!)

Really? I got more of the impression that the MC in the trailer is waiting for Shepard to arrive with galactic backup, which would lead to the idea that Earth is end-game. And don't start asking "Why Earth?" because you are flat-out told that humanity has pissed the Reapers off now. Of course they'd take us down first to prove a point to the rest of the galaxy.

@AngusJimiKeith: That depends on what they want with us. Apparently the Reapers seems interested in using humans for... (spoiler free forum or not?) ...Stuff.

In that case taking over Earth would take some time, especially if they only hit major cities first and then spread out, using indoctrinated to infiltrate and fight against the rest of the population.
