2. Why is Wynne so impossible? Theres several points where she can turn on you and no way of stopping her. You can use high cohersion to pursuade others out of turning on you so why not Wynne?
3. Why won't Alastair just admit he has a crush on Duncan? He spends the whole game talking about him and won't listen to reason when it comes to Loghain even if hardnended because Loghain's actions indirectly caused Duncans death.
4. Why does every conversation choice with Jarvia lead to the same reply of her attacking? Why give us so many options for the same thing.
5. Why do we see discarded weapons lying around but can't pick them up and why is it that when people die instead of taking their weapons and armor we take some random crap like metal shard #126353
6. Why in the mage origin does it teach you not to trust people and later on when you see Jowan again you elect not to trust him and kill him then your party gets all butthurt about it? I wish the game would make it's mind up
7. Why is the Ozammar quest way longer than anything else in the game? Did the Devs just really like Dwarves?

Alistair sees Duncan as a surrogate father, and the wardens as his home/family, Logain destroyed both, would you save Loghain? would you fight along side him?

Wynne can be swayed in Orzammar to help Bhelen; not always absolute good options.

See reply above....
4. Why does every conversation choice with Jarvia lead to the same reply of her attacking? Why give us so many options for the same thing.
It is not the outcome that is the priority, but possibly the option of offering her a chance to surrender as requested by Harrowmont that may be key.
5. Why do we see discarded weapons lying around but can't pick them up and why is it that when people die instead of taking their weapons and armor we take some random crap like metal shard #126353
That is all that remains of said weapons after battling Warden and party #126353?
6. Why in the mage origin does it teach you not to trust people and later on when you see Jowan again you elect not to trust him and kill him then your party gets all butthurt about it? I wish the game would make it's mind up
Because Wynne and the others were elsewhere during the Mage Origin, and they may not have known all the evidence before you kill an unarmed man in a jail cell?
7. Why is the Ozammar quest way longer than anything else in the game? Did the Devs just really like Dwarves?

Correct Sten will attack you during the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest in the village, but not to the death, but you can choose to kill him when he gives up.

Here's one that bugged me a bit.
You arrive in Lothering and head for the tavern. Loghain's troops claim they were looking for a person of your description. Why? At that point noone but your group and Flemeth knows you survived. Loghain doesnt hear about it until after you finish one of the 4 plot areas. (when hiring Zev)

Not exactly a 'mistake', but I always found it funny nonetheless that you can tell the Dalish woman who tends to the Halla that humans have similar beasts called 'horses', even though there's seemingly not one of those to be found in the whole of Ferelden. At least my Warden hasn't encountered any during her travels. Even the mule of the merchant who gives you Shales rod of command has mysteriously disappeared. Must have run off along with the rest...^^

2) Heavy Metal.
3) Magic, of course.
4) Magic, of course.
5) Did you not know that when you kill a mage, the spells he is maintaining are dispelled, unless they have been made permanent?
6) See 1, 2 and 3

Hahahaha this one got me too!
Is it some kind of special hammer? If so where did find it?
How come Caridin can hit the crap out of it with a hammer making the crown but it falls apart with one blow from me!?
Caridin explains this in the dialogue, where he states that a Golem cannot destroy the Anvil.
Since you are not a Golem, the magic in the hammer is perfectly capable of destroying the Anvil when wielded by your Warden. Basic RPG stuff guys

I think that was just a precaution that Loghain took. You and Alistair were not on the battlefield so, just in case you survived, Loghain left men behind to deal with you.
Yeah Logaine could suspect that you might have survived he knows you made it to the top of the tower and lit the beacon.

in my experience, Sten doesnt just attack you in Haven if his approval is low. I once went to Redcliffe to Dwyn, recovered Sten's sword, his approval went through the roof (maybe 80?) , then I took him to Haven with me and he attacked me nevertheless.
You either pick the wrong dialog options with no persuade or imtimidate check or failed at them.

Just thought I'd start a thread on the silly little things which niggle us in the game. I'm not talking technical glitches or why a critical review of Dragon Age's faults as a game - just those silly little bloopers and things that we're probably not meant to think about too much. Here are a few from me...
1) If Morrigan grew up in the wilds raised more or less single-handedly by Flemeth, why does she have a different accent from her?
2) Earthquake as a spell. Makes sense when you're fighting in, say, a field, or the Brecillian Forest, But what about when you're inside a building - halfway up the circle tower, for instance? And in the Deep Roads it seems positively suicidal.
3) The ranger's pet. What's going on there, exactly? What's supposed to be happening? Is it a real creature, or a magical one? Have you simply called it and it's responded to your call, or have you conjured it out of thin air?
4) Scattershot... Huh?... One arrow? But... How?
5) Initially Anora says you need to find Howe's mage who erected the magical barrier which traps her in the chamber at Howe's estate, and get him to undo the spell. But you never do. Did this plot point get lost in the script revisions?
6) The same armour fits both Ohgren and Sten - and then changes entirely to become ten times more revealing and offensively objectifying when put on a woman.
1. Flemeth just has an older voice.
2. It's a magical earthquake, not a real one. It's like the fireball spell - it leaves furniture and books perfectly intact. It's physical effects are limited.
3. Rangers, like templars, reavers, and spirit warriors, used what I call 'stamina-based magic'. IMO, rangers harness the power of nature gods and spirits, which in turn, show favor upon the ranger by teleporting an animal to his/her location.
4. No clue, but it's a cool skill. Magic arrows? lol
5. The mage dies, so his spell dies. Capturing him and forcing him to undo the spell would have worked to, but he was guarding Howe and needed to die.
6. That's a good point. I figure that the armor is re-fit, or that it somehow folds or slides up or down. Then again, it would need an insertable busom for the women that wear it.

1. Grey Wardens need to at least be honorable. What nation would fund and support a group of bandits that victimizes it's own people? Besides, there are evil things that you can do - just be smart and leave the good ones behind when you do them.
2. She's lawful and committed to her principles.
3. No he doesn't. There are a fixed number of conversations that involve Duncan. If you finish all of those conversations in the beginning of the game, then he only spends about 5 minutes talking about Duncan. Can you imagine any remotely rational society pardoning Loghain? Loghain's ability to swing a piece of sharp metal to kill Darkspawn doesn't make up for his high crimes. Look around, and you'll find lots of big strong men that can do the same as he can.
4. I noticed that too.
5. In Dungeons & Dragons you can, but in most PC RPGs, you can't. Good point. Your inventory would fill up pretty quickly, and in D&D you can just get a 'bag of holding'.
6. It doesn't "teach" you that. That was some conversation that you had with a demon in the Fade. Who knows; maybe the demon could see a little ways into the future and wanted to nudge you in the wrong direction in a clever way.
7. Actually, that was one of the only parts of the game where you actually spend most of your time fighting Darkspawn. Aside from the end of the game, you're either fighting bandits, guards, werewolves, undead, abominations, animals, the occasional demon, etc.

((husband)
1) The game is just using the English chicks are sexy trope. (Being one of the main a love interest for a male character was one of the big design considerations for that character).
You also don't always have the same accent as your parents. My California dialect is a lot different then my mom's one, and is certainly different then my father's Germanic accent. But Im guess you have a point, if that was the only verse she heard she should have the accent. I guess I don't see it as being different then Anora speaking differently then her father. That I attribute to her learning "to put on airs" that she naturally should be queen. With Morrigan I see it as trying to be sexy and sophisticated. I know I've heard that her using archaism like "tis" was to show that she was homeschooled in a classical manner apart from mainstream society.
2) Well I've given up expecting logic when it comes to magic and other specializations.
3) Wondered about that too, I've kind of imagined it being like Dungeons and Dragon abilities like the ranger Animal friendship, except your character "charms the animal" off camera and it applies to animals that would normally be classified as monsters.
4) That one doesn't bother me. I can at least role play this as a magic Lirium explosive arrow akin to those used by super hero archers like Green arrow, and Hawkeye. What bothers me more are ones like rain of arrows that I think is more fantastic. Or being able to use stealth in well lit areas especially dueling Loghain at the Landsmeet.
5) Don't worry about that, I just assume one of the escorts mages was the guy. That the person moved from where they were originally stationed etc. and other "fog of war" events.
6) Its unrealistic (One size fits all) but a necessary game mechanic to avoid over complexity.
I would say the inconsistencies in the Grey Warden Lore and storey telling are more troubling for me. Especially that GW don't really have any real abilities fighting darkspawn game play wise. And that certain normals can fight darkspawn with no adverse affects. I actually would like GWs to have some special abilities like a class specialization, but be a free one (not using the Specialization slot) that comes with package disadvantages especially i the role playing end of things.
I also would not say it is especially horrendous, Its technically called fanservice and well the other side gets theirs as well.
