Udina is a back stabbing, ass hat politician that wears blue sneakers. Anderson will turn out to be the right choice when the Reaper Invasion begins. You can count on it.

It better be, I recall a quote from Navigator Presly (god rest his soul). "Capitan Anderson is one of the most decorated special forces officers in the service. If he melted down all his medals he could make a life size statue of himself." Now call me crazy...but I would much rather have a guy like THAT having a say in the Council Fleet's military movement's then an "ass hat wearing politcian".

You think being an excellent tactical infantryman makes one qualified for naval deployments and tactics?

Yeah. Sure.

The people who determining and leading the Alliance's military operations will be the Admirals.

See this is where I am still correct...because even if Udina is made Counciler...guess what...Anderson becomes an Admiral, meaning the Alliance feels he is good enough at tactics to be a Admiral. So I stand by my comment, he would make a better Counciler choice for that purpose alone if for no other reason.

Anderson is an Admiral on the basis of being Udina's advisor, not on the basis of fleet leadership experience. This is an position akin to saying that the Chaplain General (yes, the US has a general in charge of the Chaplains) is not only a demonstrated general, but will also be a superior political leader.

I will grant that some US Generals are like that. However the Alliance is not like the US army. Is there any solid evidence to prove he is only an Admiral for that reason?

Why even give the player a choice if in the end your choice is meaningless?

It doesn't just screw over players who chose Anderson, but also players that chose Udina. Because choosing Udina is equally meaningless, because he was going to get the job with or without your endorsal. He didn't need you.

Actually, the moments when something happens in the ME universe in spite of Shepard's wish are just marvellous.

Yes yes, we understand that you really wish that ME wasn't an RPG.  Moving on.

In ME, there is no such thing as canon, as we make our own.

Udina was probably the choice for the books and comics simply because unlike Anderson,
he is the quintisential politican, or simply because the books/comics work under the assumption
of the worst possible (for paragons anyway) ending in ME1.

Yeah, Karpyshyn's stories and the comics are supposedly based on a "renegade" timeline of events; atleast that's how he's responded to letters. Indeed, according to him, there is no "canon" canon - sorry for the pun - for the ME series.

Well, in the books, Anderson supposedly quits (this is after the events of ME2 though) and Udina earns his place. Or something like that.

I lost faith in Walters for making ME2 too off topic and now I have lost faith in Drew...of all people due to this...
