I have an npc that spawns in with the visual effects for ghostly visage (which is causing the problem I think) and a white glow. I have a conversation file attached to this npc. Click on them and nothing happens. OK try scripting. Tried both ActionStartConversation and BeginConversation in a script placed in the OnConversation script. Still the conversation won't start. Help please.

The vfx are irrelevant. Are you using a DM character to test? Their default action is NOT to start a convo, as it is with PCs - you have to right-click radial-select Talk To to get the convo going with a DM. Another possibility is that you have entered specific speaker tags for the npc's convo lines, and the npc's tag doesn't match. A quick way to tell whether or not the problem lies within your script or elsewhere would be to sub in the normal onconvo script.

Thanks for the advice. It turned out to be a real schoolboy error (don't ask - its too embarrassing). That will teach me not to try doing scripts at that time in the morning again.
