I don't see why they would make a Mass Effect multiplayer game or anything related to Mass Effect while the triology is not complete. Makes no sense.

THIS!!!!!  X's 100000000.  I want to finish it before I play spin-offs or whatever.

It's not a bad idea. I actually like it because there is supposed to be a single player component to it as well. If my assumption is correct, then our character in the rumored Mass Effect title should be our own unique character akin to the Warden from Dragon Age: Origins.

Also, I'm sure others are weary of the "Modern Warfare 2" reference when they describe their multiplayer progression system. I really think they just mean the style of progression, not the style of gameplay itself. Reach did it, but with its own spin. Medal of Honor did it with its own spin. Mass Effect is going to do it and they're going to put their own spin on it.

I would stop playing the franchise end of. bioware has made a name for itself for putting out top quality rpgs. if it switches or even just spins off a fps or 3ps i think they will loose alot of loyal die hard fans as like most are saying if the wanna play online fps etc theres bf bc2 or cod. ME spin off could be so much more than an online shooter more a way to continue the franchise after ME3 so they can keep the rpg but in a diff direction.

Indeed. Isn't there enough shooting in ME2 anyway? I find it kind of perplexing for them to make an FPS "spin-off" when you spend the majority of your ME2 playtime killing things. And missions are so built like shooter missions rather than rpg ones, it kind of feels very weird. It wouldn't be so far off from ME2 without dialogue...

I think the whole mercenary groups thing would be the perfect setting for multiplayer. For ME3, playing as somebody else's squadmate would be awesome. Again, as long as Bioware does multiplayer after completly finishing the single player it won't hurt anybody.

A ME multiplayer spin-off? Ok... unless there is a single player campaign that'll get fantastic reviews I'll most probably skip that game and wait for ME3. Normally spin-off games doesn't bother me since I can just skip them, but I'm afraid this will push back the release of ME3 to avioid competition between the two. I guess it's always good to give the ME3 team more time to polish the game though. But what kind of games will Bioware release in the future if a fps is a success? It would be sad if Bioware turned into a game developer just like everyone else.

C'mon... if it will be a spin-off you're not forced to buy the game. If you don't like it, don't buy it! That's simply enough. It would be a bigger fail if they implement some kind of multiplayer into ME3 because that would totally ruin the whole game.

Can anybody answer my questions. Is bioware going to make and more new dlc. Will they  Ashley Williams join back with the team.

Who will be in mass effect 3? Will bioware make a mass effect prequel game.

BioWare has confirmed they are making more Mass Effect 2 DLC. We do not know what any of it is about, so we do not know if there will be a Virmire Survivor DLC. Ashley and Kaiden are unlikely to join the team, as BioWare has stated they will not be adding in any more squad members after Kasumi.

We dont know who will be in Mass Effect 3, and we dont know if there will be a prequel.

This is actually a really great idea. We WANT Mass Effect to be expanding into different genres and all. As long as they keep the Shepard story seperate, which they will, and the multiplayer game seperate, appealing to that audience in a different way------then we're all good. This is my whole thing.....keep developing a mass effect rpg, and then I welcome everything else that comes with it....just keep the rpg's true to the first Mass Effect style and we're happy!

You are a good man. Unfortunately there will always be people crabby and butthurt whenever BioWare dont give them exactly what they want.

I'd buy Mass Effect on the Wii. Sounds like a solid ticket.

Here's a novel position. You could...not buy the game if you don't like it! Pretty nifty, huh?

I like the idea of ME being multilayer i just don't want them to mess it up. Also i hope this is Co-Op more than just another call of duty with competitive multilayer i like call of duty but that kind of game should stay with their company. I also see how you can make Co-Op in ME you already have squad members why not have computer and player squad members so when your playing solo you can still play just give their player a story or background.

Instead of above just let the second player control one of the AI controlled squadmates you bring with you...when you are on hub worlds, let them control the squadmate by moving around...its not perfect but i think for friends or siblings who love Mass Effect it could work...I could do my playthrough making decisions with input from my brother and then we could do his playthrough with him making decisions with my input

Obv it would take some work but I think its a very non-invasive way of adding Coop

*The one thing that would need to be worked around is changing weapons and using powers...instead of real time stoping maybe use LT button to scroll the character you want to access and have RT scroll through weapons or something to that effect
