I'm just going to go ahead and say we all remember the Mass effect 2 cinematic trailer with thane doing backflips and looking like a war-zone or a action movie, but thats all it was; a cinematic trailer. Until there's a confirmation its just a really really confusing teaser

It's Mass Effect: Corporate Warfare. The guy in the trailer/pics is a Binary Helix commando among the ruins of Dhazil, Garvug's capital city after orbital bombardment.

If you follow the CDN updates you'll know what I'm on about

I guess Mass Effect 2 was still too complicated for people...

I'd support it if it were a stand-alone game and not ME3.

Multiplayer in Mass Effect could be pretty interesting, I think.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about.
It isn't ME3. It is developed by another studio. It WON'T EFFECT THE QUALITY OF ME3'S CAMPIGN.
We can finally put our ME combat skills in a real test!
As long as it won't be ANOTHER FPS. We have enough of these.
It must use the ME2 combat mechanics!
think of 6x6 class based fights...

Not a big fan of the killstreak system, BUT
killstreak 10 = YMIR MECH? Pure awesomeness if done correctly.

As a stand-alone game, sure. But i want absolutely NO multiplayer in Mass Effect 3, it should be a singleplayer game.

I'd hate to play as the Corporatists. GAVRUG GAVRUG GAVRUG ahem.

No really, they suck.

I hope its true. I can never begrudge Bioware making new games or trying new things. A FPS would be a nice, big jump for Bioware. And the ME universe is probably the universe I most want to shoot people in. So yes, please, bring it on, as long as it is NOT ME3.

Actually no, they said a BioWare game. So it'll be developed by the same studio, but a different team, BioWare Montreal

Of course this is a rumor, but this is not a good sign.

I think its a little too early to judge the game.

Haha that was funny.  Anyway, I really hope they make a Mass Effect 2 expansion or those bridge DLC's and not a multiplayer game while Mass Effect 3 is still in development.

And for sure I don't want another multiplayer fps thingy... :/  I dislike fps with a passion D: I mean, a bit of fps action in Mass Effect was okay but if i liked the game it's because the story is so awesome. I played both games lots of times, read comics, books... i really really love this universe so it's a bit odd for me to hear about a multiplayer game :S

If they made a Star Trek fps, it would be lolworthy but that's it. Besides, they said "brand new game"... I don't know, lots of mixed signals here...

There have been quite a number of Star Trek FPS's in the past.

And they were received well. (Done by one of them Dallas companies)

Im on board for this Mass Effect Multiplayer game (Come on guys, we all knew that there would be one eventually) as long as they finish off ME3 first. I don't want to have to wait another year or 2 to finish the fight with the Reapers. Also, they do it right. And im not just talking about the multiplayer, but the single player campaign. I understand that it wont be as long as ME1 2 or 3, but don't do wat CoD does and just attach a cheap little campaign that can be finished in a day.

This would be a pretty awesome idea I think. I think the TPS multiplayer market is ripe and open. Currently, Gears of War 2 dominates. If Bioware can produce a Bioshock like single player (in third person, with the same- if not better- level of storytelling), with a unique multiplayer (like Assassins Creed Brotherhood), this game could dominate.

It could be what Call of Duty: 4 was for FPS.

I'm really looking forward to hear more of this if it's true.

As long as it has a good SP and decent bots for offline MP, I would get it.

If not, I'll pass.

does any one know if it's being made by the same section of bioware that made mass effect 1 & 2 or if it's being made by a different group of people?

As long as its more like Uncharted (75:25, Story:Multiplayer) than CoD (5:95, Story:Multiplayer) and they keep it a TPS (I dispise FPS multiplayer) I think the rumored ME multiplayer game could be good.

The trilogy hasn't even finished yet and Bioware's throwing out spin-offs? Troubling news indeed. I hope this rumour isn't true. If it is true, I wonder how much say EA had in this.

I thought Uncharted 2 did it perfectly. It's very rare that a game exceeds at both Single Player and Multiplayer. usually one suffers.

Thinking about it, I really wouldn't mind a multiplayer style shooter based in Mass Effect, presuming it's handled correctly, and it has absolutely no effect on ME3. The last thing I want is ME3 to be first person and online required.

Anyways, choosing which race to be (Asari, Turian, Geth, Human, Salarian). I think it'd be fun.

Good point.  Mass Effect: Galaxy was released between ME1 and ME2.  Although I don't like to think of it as a "videogame," it WAS a spinoff, served as bridging content, and had a main character other than Shepard.  Sure, it sucked, but it didn't hamper ME2's development/sales at all.

Think of this as a bigger, more expensive ME: Galaxy with more multiplayer and less... iPhone-ness and suckage.

Actually, thinking about it further, this may actually be great news and a fantastic move on Bioware's part. Everyone was complaining about the lack of RPG in ME2, so releasing a pure multiplayer shooter will attract the shooter fans, while ME3 is free to go back to it's RPG-ness without really hampering sales or reputation.
