Loghain had depth of character, but he was an entirely ineffectual villain. His villainy career after Ostagar is basically just one blunder after another, culminating in utter failure.

Indeed, and that is the main reason that I don't like Loghain is because of the in-game events including Ostagar since it was mainly Loghain's plan as the strategy cut scene shows.

I'll get around to reading the novels one day but as of now the man is an idiot as his in-game dialouge proves Loghain's priorties were all wrong.

I think Geralt is missing because he is, first and foremost, a character from a book (well, several books), upon which the game was based.

Kreia should have been there, but KotOR II is oft overlooked due to its cut content and botched ending, and I also believe this poll was based on reader votes.

Well this doesn't surprise given how male dominated the industry is and how the people who made the list are more than likely men.

My top 30 would probably include only 4 male characters on the other hand. :happy:

Mine would definitely have a lot of Dragon Age characters. I'm a little biased in favor of them. Hell, I'd probably even include my own warden. :innocent:

I'm not sure if I could rank them though. It's too hard for me to settle on one favorite.

It's probably the same dynamic that makes it almost impossible to carry a mass-market action franchise on a female protagonist.  Yes I'm bitter about Sarah Connor Chronicles!

Yea I think many of mine would be from DA. Bhelen would be in there for sure. Anora as well. And if we can include our PCs, mine is number 1 for sure.

Ah thanks. I actually know surprisingly few of those characters, which is kind of embarrassing for an ex-games journalist. Then again I don't take any interest in non-PC games these days.

I liked SCC I especially liked Summer Glau and there was this hot chunky guy too... Oh, dear...

Anyway, female game characters: Lara Croft, Kate Archer, Jade, Jahira, Faith (Mirror's Edge), Kreia, Bastila...

For those of you on the foruns who don't know what I'm referring to, it's that Loghain parallels Darth Vader in so many ways . . . and Darth Vader is always #1 on movie villians lists. Hence it stands to reason Loghain is the GOAT.

I like that Loghain got onto the list.



Loghain often gets the short end of the stick with people deciding he is just a villian and thats it.

Few video game characters have ever stuck with me, and made me really think about them after I was done playing.

I appreciate that they didn't pick the "obvious" ones, probably one of the LIs since those are the characters people tend to know well and consider their favorites. As I said up above, I would guess it's a statement about liking games which have character driving the conflict.
