When a load screen is displayed, transition to new area etc, while the blue bar moves across the bottom of the screen, there is a box with (random?) "Lore: blah..." text in it.

Where is that text found and is it a normal edit-and-put-in-override mod?

Got it. They're from the dialog.tlk table.
