I was thinking of soloing with a paladin, and one problem that occurs to me are locks, usually i just open these with a thief, but without one this will be a problem, what sort of strength do you need to bust locks? Are there many/any locks you can't bust open? Is the paladin stronghold quests doable soloing? Which of the paladin classes are best for soloing? I was thinking either undead hunter, basically no disadvantages for not having to bother with negative plane protection, or inquisitor.

If you play with difficulty enhancing mods, best choice is an Inquisitor. An Undead Hunter's permanent NPP is anyway coped with the Amulet of Power, and the Immunity to hold - with the Ring of Free Action. Most locks can be busted with Str 24 or 25. You can attain that at paladin level 18 with DUHM and a girdle of Hill Giant Str. There are some locks your paladin will be unable to bust open, I'd suggest to either hire temporarily a thief, or to forget about those alltogether. Maybe the only notable lock which cannot be bashed open (but can be picked) and contains something extremely valuable is in the outskirts of Sendai's enclave - there is a rune for upgrading the Runehammer to +5.
Remember that there is a chance to open a lock/door even with Str 25, so if at first you don't succeed, try 10-15 more times, and if you fail all the time - then probably that particular lock cannot be bashed.

How will you be able to use DUHM after spellhold with an inquisitor? Is Inquisitor better even though it can't use deva/duhm etc... What about a cavalier using Azuredge.. Though non-inquisitors have more problems to deal with spellcasters of course...

After Spellhold your Inquisitor will be using Crom Faeyr of course when bashing doors. And if you have any particular problem with the chest holding Gesen Bow String, use a Storm Giant Strength potion.
Well, to put it simple, an Inquisitor won't have much problem vs mages. Another paladin will have 85% physical resistances with Armor of Faith + Hardiness + Defender of Easthaven. The Deva is IMO irrelevant. Nice to have, but irrelevant. The DUHM and the other buffs fall into that category. It's up to you to decide whether you want near-100% physical resistance, or always-working Dispel Magic + True Sight of course.

What are you talking about? The inquisitor may not have access to cleric spell levels 1-4, but they can summon a deva.
Also, there is a component in the G3 Tweaks that opens all locks (and removes all traps).

Some would consider that cheating. I don't know how Oyzar feels about that though.
