Go, go, do whatever tutorial you want. Just, please, don't upload the area, because that area will be use in a mod. I joined a modding group ;-P

Hoegbo, I also do a lot of screen shots as I go along when I am attempting to do a tutorial guide. A picture definitely helps -- especially "Before" and "After" shots when it comes to Upgrading an Area (like changing textures, coloring for shading, smoothing and terrain changes) -- so that it's easier to see the changes compared side by side. And sometimes I forget to take a few as well if I start really getting into the area design. It's not easy thinking about making a guide as you go and no amount of going back will help if you miss those initial screenshots.
As a point of reference: If you do a before and after, Alt+Tab between the "Before" Screen and the Toolset View to make sure you get an "After" Screen that is as close to the same viewpoint as the first. It really makes a difference if you can show that. A lot of times, I see folks post before and after shots that are from completely different angles and that doesn't really help, because now you don't know how much of the way it looks is due to the change in view and how much due to the changes made.
Just FYI. And at some point, anyone who knows of guided area builduing tutorials, we should get them all together and compare notes. Different folks have different methods and it would be nice to get a compilation of different techniques and efforts from more than one source.

Since you are planning a big wonderful tutorial (I offer as beta-tester, being no-native English speaker and no-toolset-smart!!!), can I ask for a request? Please, add in the first section something like "toolset for dummies: use ctrl + left-click for this and right arrow for that". A sort of summary of the basic things... that I usually forgot

Actually, Vaalyah, I believe there is a tutorial that is titled Toolset for Dummies somewhere. If not, I would be happy to add in that sort of stuff. Although I prefer: Important Tips and Tricks for Newbies to the Toolset. (I don't like calling people Dummies, sends the wrong message, I think.)
In any case, if it ain't there, it'll get there.

To say the truth, I read tons of tutorials. The problem is that even the basic commands, if you don't use them often, can be forgotten...and find back among all the tutorials I've read the exact thing I need in that moment, is impossible O_O

Okay, so adding in a "Toolset Keyboard Shortcuts and Toolset Actions Reference Guide" will be on my "To Do" list during the compilation of this monster. I'll make a page with nothing more than all the Keyboard Key Combinations (with Mouse Click/Drag Hold) to indicate how to do all the simple things we ultimately learn to do over time (I know I was surprised to discover that there was more than one way to rotate items and to move them around the area when placing them) and then take for granted -- or forget.
Any other specific requests to have certain kinds of Toolset Information added in, included or made by anyone, please just post it here.

You deserve a big hug! Thank you!
Another request by me: what about adding also some informations about toolset plug-ins? Something like: title, link for download it, what does it do, why it's useful. A small summary, just to provide some ideas for noobs!

Okay, that's a really good idea. Plug-Ins. What Are They and What Can They Do For You?
Worth a whole chapter on it's own.

Ok, after long days of troubles, I was able to download and see the video-tutorial you suggested to me some posts above. A question of BIG importance. In the video-tutorial the guy is using a plug-in that allow him to use a pen-tablet (with pressure) in the toolset. So, a plug-in that can make the toolset sensible to pressure.
Since my Wacom tablet here is incredibly useful (and I tried several times to use it with the toolset), can someone please give me the link to download that plug-in?
Thank you!

You can find all of the NWN2 plugins on nwvault.ign.com. This is probably what you are after:

That's funny, Vaalyah, because my Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen and Touch works automatically with the toolset without a plug-in. It doesn't do everything I'd like it to do (which would be cause for loading the plug-in I would bet,) but just making placeables in large numbers quick and easy shortens some of my area building work load by a LOT! The Plug-In file, Vaalyah, should go in the Plug-ins Directory and once that's done, make sure that when you set up the toolset Options, check the Load All Plug-ins = TRUE.

My Wacom works too... the only thing is that the toolset doesn't "read" the pressure level, that is (from what I've understood) the scope of the above-mentioned plug-in. Thank you for the instructions! I have to check the file of the plug-in because in the readme is written something about managing many tablets and how to write configuration options in the plug-in itself... I need to read that carefully for avoiding troubles :-P

I've put the plug in in the right directory, then set "load all plug in" but when loading the toolset I got the "cannot open tablet plugin" pop up window. Any ideas?

I think the plug-in requires updating, Vaalyah. In this case, there's a How To Update a Plug-in post somewhere -- possibly even instructions on the Vault for something called RePlug. It's really simple and the steps to follow are easy. Once that is done you should be able to run it and see how it goes for you. Any troubles, just post back here.

I've done a not-so-quick search in the forum, but I am unable to find this thread about how to update plug-in. Can you please give me a link for that topic?

These new Forums!
Sorry, had to get that out of my system. I just finished posting the information you needed, Vaalyah and the system kicked me out, made me relogin and deleted my post information. ERRRRRRR~!
Okay, now that I got that out of the way, I did find this, which I think is what I had in mind when I was talking about updating your plugins:
Plugin Version Fixer
This may also be of use to you in knowing more about how the process of making a plugin works, though I can't promise it will actually help.
Writing an NWN2 Plugin Howto
The essentials of making an older unmaintained plug in compatible (though testing may reveal issues, I can't promise 100% effective success) are quite simple according to the document I first linked.
Let me know how it goes.
And yes, I know the word, "Hate," is such a strong word. My only real concern, though is that I am not sure it's strong enough to properly capture my utter loathing for certain poorly functioning elements of these Newer, Faster, Stronger, more Powerful forums.

BTW, Sothis B appears to have already updated the plugin for all the various game versions. Just scroll down to the comments section of the plugin page on the vault and you'll see them. Not sure if this is what's causing your problem but the work has already been done recompling the plugin.
