In any event, so long as the accent doesn't sound like a parody, I'm fine with a fake one. It's done all the time in movies, TV. If it's decent, it's fine with me.

No offense, but being French I found the Orlesian accents funny, you could tell those weren't their real accents. I know its a resource issue but anyone feel the same about accents?
Leliana's accent was real.
I apologize to all French speakers for the pain that was Miss Teghaaaan.

Leliana's VA was provided by Corinne Kempa. She is French.

That doesn't make her stop being French, does it?

they arent supposed to be actual french accents. they are french inspired or french-ish. They dont have to be exact
Good point. They are supposed to be somewhat like medieval French accents as best represented by the French soldiers in th Holy Grail.

The only accent in DAO I had a problem with was Isolde, because it was just so...whiny. Leliana's bugged me at first but I think that was more character-based than a problem i had with her VA, and she grew on me after a couple of play-throughs.
The bigger issue for me is that I can't hear Simon Templeman's voice in any other game without yelling "LOOOOGHAAAAIN!", much to my boyfriend's delight, let me tell you.

And yeah, add me to the "Isolde was annoying" bandwagon but I don't think that was because she didn't sound Orlesian/French enough. I think we're not supposed to like her.

Oh, I missed this. Lol, by that rationale I am no longer American because I live in Australia. Who knew? I guess my American accent must be totally fake.

Or you may comment blindly and be shown the fool. Your choice.
If country of origin isn't listed, try googling the name.
