I say this. During one of the major plot missions during the first 4-7 hours of the game you stumble upon a single chamber housing a living, unharmed prothean who is well aware of what happened to his/her people, and throughout the course of the game helps you and the rest of the galaxy prepare for the imminent reaper invasion. You two will become close friends, and the tear-jerker moment will be where they sacrifice themself at the end to either save you or to carry out the mission in the end, perhaps both. Maybe even throw in a "I stayed behind to ensure this no one would have to do what I'm doing right now. You've completed your mission, Shepard. It's time for me to complete mine."

Also, they will be a potential love interest, to make it even more painful for those Sheps who happen to fall in love with a "ghost."

I'll second this suggestion.   It makes sense IMHO, and it's original as well. Has there been any sci-fi that's done this sort of action?

My dream ending would be Shepard surviving along with most of his crew. I wouldn't mind a casualty here and there for dramatic effect.



But, after playing as Shepard for 3 games, I'd not be a fan of the cliche ending of the 21st century where the hero has to die or sacrifice himself, or the villain succeeds. I swear virtually every new horror/sci fi movie these days ends with the villains winning - at first it was kind of cool but now it's just like "really, why did I even watch this?". It really is old and stale to me at this point. Besides, Shepard already "died" once, I don't really need to see that again. Even if he was revived 2 years (and about 30 seconds of game time) later.



I'm looking for a good old fashioned happy ending where me and my LI retire after more "unknown" adventures or something.

I'd probably have to say i want to see shepard just go completely ballistic on the main boss's general or captain

just they have this brutal ass fight (better than fighting the shadow broker, and at least gruesome)

Then while it's laying in the floor....it's just saying "no matter what the outcome, the reapers are ending this charade your existence plagues upon"



and then shepard just jams the assault rifle down it's throat, and just unloads a whole clip in it's mouth and just says:



"If i didn't know any better, i'd assume you're dead since you're not threatening my life."



He Flies back down from a damaged fighter jet, parachutes down, and he's walking onto the shores of West africa, The Main reaper ship is falling from the sky, exploding repeatedly and then just going into disintegration, pieces of the ship are just crashing into the atlantic ocean, and he's just walking with this ROYALLY pissed off look on his face, Everyone's cheering after all the reaper ships are exploding from defeat, and the last thing you hear from shepard is "wipe these ugly sons of ****es from the face of the galaxy, We've ended this war, now lets go make sure they STAY DEAD"

plot: the protheans were the so-called olympians/anunaki/elochim. the reapers were created by a silicon-based life form as opposed to carbon-based ones. scientists say such life-forms could exist.

endings? hm.. multiple.
- earth is destroyed and u have to evacuate to another planet.
[OR]
- the reapers are destroyed by your uber 10-man team again.
[OR]
- you find a way to control them if u salvaged the tech from the ME2 last mission
[OR]
- the whole thing will supposedly happen durring some cosmic event and humans become "natural biotics" like the assari and save earth.

and during the mission u will have to convince certain races to aid you. like the Quarians, Geth, Assari... etc...

Multiple endings, pleeeeeeeeeease! Shepard dying in one of them. Half of the crew dying in either ending (it's a goddamn war!!).



I want the reapers to be defeated by the geth. That would be very ironic. The machine race everybody hates saves all organic life. I like it.

Maybe the geth can sort of invade the reapers and destroy something from the inside. In order for that to work, for the geth to actually manage to dock the reapers, they need major backup from the organic races. That would combine uniting all races with a kind of secret weapon. Because I don't buy that mere fire power can defeat the reapers. That's ridiculous.

I want the reapers to actually be as scary and seemingly unstoppable as they come across in ME1. That means the loss of MANY lives, including part of Shepard's squad. No more suicide mission with nobody dying!



My ideal final scene for a surviving Shepard would be this:

One or more destroyed reapers. Pan out to the war-ravaged dusty battlefield with lots of dead bodies lying around. Cut to earth where the Normandy crashed. One of his squad, maybe the LI, gets up and takes in the scene of destruction. Torn armor, bloody face. In the background we see more injured people rising from the ground, among them two or three squadmates. Said squadmate/ LI walks by Garrus like a sleepwalker, all tired and in shock. Garrus looks at the squadmate with an exhausted but triumphant smile. Said squadmate walks on, looking for Shepard. Finds him/her standing next to a fallen comrade. They look at each other for a long moment. They exchange a few words about their dead friend. They wonder how many more people have died. Billions? Cut to Turian, Krogan and Quarian soldiers someplace else. A lot of dead bodies there, too. Cut back to Shepard who's now sitting with eyes closed on a piece of debris. The LI sits down next to Shep. They talk about how Shepard did the impossible. After a short pondering silence, Shep delivers a quiet speech about how much destruction one species with an unmatched god complex has brought upon the galaxy. It's up to every living creature to ensure that such a thing won't ever happen again. The LI says something stupid like: "It won't happen again." Not convinced at all Shepard looks up to the stars, not saying a word.

Credits roll.



Maybe a final scene after the credits in which we see TIM plotting human dominance of the galaxy with the reaper technology. An ironic jab, you know. Because to me the whole story feels like an allegory of how humans dominate and destroy every living thing on earth with the very same arrogance.

My ending wouldn't be the ending.... You know... Something like Shep and his team are able to defend the earth, but there is tons of other reapers that need to be destroyed but the game ends at Shep defending the earth.... Of course i would add multiple ending. For example Shep can die or can stay alive, which depends on how you upgrade ship and loyalty... That way we can maybe get a new game, in which we get to choose to be a human, turian, asari soldier or others and fight the reapers....Mabye make it a multiplayer game like World Of Warcraft, making guilds, and making raids on reapers...

My dream ending involves one that's at least three times longer than the previous games' endings. You don't have to get all MGS4 on me if you don't feel like it, BioWare, but I find ME1's and ME2's endings way too short.

Yeah, the developers have even reinforced the lack of ME4 recently by stating how they're so free to go in crazy directions compared with ME2 because there's nothing that's waiting on a linear path to make sure ME4 happens.

I forgot who's idea this was, but a "shutter island" style ending which ends with lone survivor Shepard in a padded cell. Shepard defeats the reapers in his mind, but Doctor Chakwas begins to wonder if she can ever really help him.

Again I think the "it was all a dream" or "it was all part of a psychopath's mind" is also overdone these days, and makes the entire experience pointless and unfulfilling.

bull**** sutch things have yet to be tested in mass effect lore or tested in game symulation by bioware employees for all we know that could be were reapers come from

An epic space battle involving all the ME races (Batarians included) while Shepard infiltrates with a small team one of the Reapers and brings it down. And then goes down in a blaze of glory, his/her LI leading the path to a new world for the survivors of the other races.

an ending that is reflected in the war asset I built up. eg if I let the destiny assention die in the the first game them then you see the asari taking heavy losses defending the crucible. Same thing on the ground, after the crucible detonates a montage of squad mates past and present living or dying depending on the choices made, eg put Jack on the front lines then she dies protecting her kids. All played out montaged together with that beasutiful Clint Mansell piano piece over thr top
