There is some ceremony, Shepard gets a shiny medal from Hackett, is promoted, says epic speech about the fight being far from over.
And possibly:
Shepard walks across the Illusive Man's office, stepping over some dead guards. One of Cerberus' new employees drags TIM's corpse away (or drags a handcuffed and swearing TIM off as a prisoner.) Shepard sits in TIM's chair, spins around facing that star, brings up a holographic information display, snaps his fingers, and one of his new secretaries hands him a glass of some sort of alcohol. Cut to credits.

That is also a cool way.

Yes. I would like such a renegade seizes power possible outcome. My Shepard isn't cut out for a quiet normal sort of life.

I know a lot of people think we're actually going to fight the Reapers, but the ending of ME2 doesn't necessarily give that impression. I can imagine the beginning of ME3 being an escape from the Reapers back into the Omega 4 Relay and we get through but at some cost to Shepard, ala getting his face blown off so you can re-make it.

Anyway, back to the point. Illusive Man actually ends up being a messenger for the Reapers and betrays you in some way (like you couldn't see that coming). Huge, multi-part fight to take him down. You end up having to find a way to block the Reapers from entering normal space, ala "insert random technological big freakin gun that seals parts of the universe" or something, all the while Illusive Man is wrecking everything (Citadel, Omega, whatever new cities exist in ME3) and the Reapers are knocking on your door. Ending paragon, you kill Illusive Man and save the Universe, and ending Renegade, the Reapers come back and kill and destroy everything.

Oh yeah, and for Tali fans... if she was your LI in ME2, during the fight with Illusive Man she'll get hit real hard, smash against the wall and her mask will crack. It'll cut away to Illusive Man beating the crap out of Shepard, and right before he delivers the killing Blow, Illusive Man will get shot in the back. It'll pan back to Tali with a pistol, the cracked mask on the ground and it slowing panning up to reveal her face. She'll kill Illusive Man, and then she'll go to Shepard's side thinking he's dead...and then after a few seconds he starts breathing again. Pan out to maskless Tali embracing Shepard while everything else is in flames. Fade to black.

IDC as long as its something truely epic, something worthy or the trilogy's conclusion, i aslo want it to be done with alot of care and pride, not to mention i want it to be quite moving, something like Kojima did at the end of MGS4, you know a worthy ending to a trilogy that deserves it.

But if he were working for the Reapers, why would he have worked so hard to mess up their plans through all of ME2?

Illusive Man is very shady. Many of the things he does to Shepard and his crew are shady. We still don't know his real motivations (Cerberus taking over the Galaxy? Maybe...too simple though) I wouldn't put betrayal on an epic scale past him.

As for the Renegade ending... I don't know, I feel as if I chose that path that having everything destroyed in a giant, epic finale would be decent closure for that path. Someone mentioned that it'd be cool if the Renegade ending was more "savior of the universe" type and the Paragon ending was failure because you were too trusting.

I can understand that for some of the Renegade options but...come on.... you ran over defenseless monkeys on alien planets for amusement. Is that really "savior of the universe" material?

Well, if Shepard doesn't beat Saren to the Conduit, everybody in the galaxy is going to die.  I'm not sure the guy who slows down the whole mission just so he doesn't have to harm any of the cute ickle space monkeys is the kind of saviour I'd want to rely on...

that reapers are not totally destroyed my some aliance/cerberus marine. Really, i understand postponing the cycle for another 50 000 years, but complete annihilation of reapers will be a huge dissappoint for me.

Humanity has rallied the galaxy, a massive fleet has been assembled within council space, the reaper attack starts on the outer edge of the galaxy the reapers split up into groups to begin the harvest, You then choose which Reaper fleets to attack and with what armies/ fleets, if u play your cards right and pick the right fleets and armies for the job you will still lose too many because Shepard cant be everywhere at once.

i have a feeling that the last battle or the tide changing battle will take place on a planet/space station/derelict super-ship that has the cannon that damaged the reaper and caused the great rift valley on keldagon

then Shep uses that ship to beat the reapers back, but after the war is won the galaxy is in tatters.

Klencory[/b] is a rock and ice planet with an atmosphere composed of chlorine and argon....etc...
...claims that a vision of a higher being told him to seek on Klencory
the "lost crypts of beings of light." These entities were supposedly
created at the dawn of time to protect organic life from synthetic
"machine devils."

Found this while playing the 1st Mass Effect.
Kelpler Verge > Newton System > Klencory.

Either you are gonna have some new allies, or your gonna find some cool tech.
I am guessing that this would have something to do with the final game. mabye? idk. Either that your going to find out that the guy digging for stuff really is crazy...  Is it a risk worth taking on a planet with an atmosphere like that?

Renegade is clear - humans, Alliance and Cerberus will totally dominate the galaxy. Human terror wil cause more and more anti-human mood, all species acting against them one day. And then we will at least have new game from ME universe.
Seriously TIM is too much of a mystery and there is still big chance Cerberus and Alliance have some sort of agreement (ehm - Shadow broker archive suggested so).
.
Near the end Harbinger tries to indoctrinate Shepard as his last outcome, but fails. Shepard is unconsious fighting his/her own subconscios, and during that time Reapers will made their move - one group for Citadel, other for Earth and Arctutus and you will have to chose which one to save (I am sure there will be another Virmire somewhere).

And because it is still mainstream game - then it may go in typical (good old Aristotle narration) way. Our big hero will rise from near death (or falling to dark side) and comes back in dashing rescue voluntering to damage Reapers from inside and probably sacrificing her/himself in proces. But if it is happy Hollywood movie - Joker and Normandy will save her/him in last moment and fly away. Yup and your favourite and one and only LI on board.

I think we will have to fight Reapers at some point - arent we collecting biggest army Galaxy ever saw, since ME1 started (rachni, geth, quarian fleet, Wrex krogans) because we want them to work together and show in right time and right place?
And then Shepard will lock Reapers in dark space - and throws away the key.

Edit - I forgot. Joker will be cured and became a femShep LI, also Thane will be cured and will be first drell who will win swimming contest with Hanar. And Tali vs not killing headshot is sure thing and Samara will cut the crap and finally kiss you with Miranca as new Cerberus leader, this time with glowing pink eyes.

Yes, I agree to some extent that may not be the complete destruction of Reapers, because Repers can not just be fighting machines for the mass destruction of organic life, that their motives may be more difficult, perhaps even justified, seems to me that most do not even suggest this.

If you watched and remember in tv-show Star Gate was race ancient. As a result of the cataclysm their race became extinct, but they have not disappeared, they ascended - they came to possess knowledge and power, but they not interfered in the affairs of mortals.
I hope you see the analogy with the "Creatures of Light" which seek find volus on the planet Klenkori.

Some really good ideas in here.

I would like it to be on par with ME2's suicide mission but on a much, much larger scale. That is to say, instead of individuals by your side, you have entire fleets; instead of fighting other individuals, you are fighting enormous machines, and instead of fighting inside a closed base, you are fighting in the depths of the emptiness of the interstellar ocean. Some things that could happen before and after include an epic speech, and reconnection with your love interest, etc.

All in all, ME3 has some unprecedentedly large potential to it. It's up to BioWare to make it live up to our expectations, which I like to believe they will.

Wow. I hadn't checked this in a while and it had turned into a really great thread.

I just thought a good idea as well. How about having the whole thing as a sort of suicide mission, albeit with some inevitable deaths? So by the time you reach the final battle with the Reapers it is a massive thing of revenge, where you have say like 5 or 6 of your squad left, and it makes for a hugely emotional scene, as it is just you and your core team on the reapers in a final, climatic battle.

I thought of some ideas too.

1. Imagine Harbringer saying "Assuming control" and then Shepard gets indoctrinated like poor Collectors.

2.After a reunion with ME1 LI, Ashley/Kaidan or Liara (in case you had something with one of them) dies at your hug.

Shepard: "I don't know what's coming next, all I know is that it's coming. This is my life, this is who I am and always will be. My name is Commander Shepard, first human Spectre, and I'll be waiting."

cut to Normandy flying off into the unknown as it engages its FTL drive.

Sounds like the ending monoloque of Optimus Prime in the first Transformers Live Movie. That it's not a bad thing, for once...
