One of the Reaper's 'listens to reason' and betrays his own kind after seeing the unmitigated destruction his species unleashes. The reaper decides to shut itself down / go back to dark space but not before imparting to Shephard (via the Collectors through the cypher) the way to stop the Reapers.

At the end, you see all the teammates, admirals of other races, give their support to Shephard as he enters the Presidium in order to utterly slap down the council for their shortsightedness. And at the very last moment, Shephard and his LI (if he has one) are shown talking, when Dr. Chakwas hands him a datapad, and simply says, 'Congratulations, Commander', as the LI is shown smiling.

That all being said, I want an ending that will be open enough for absolutely shed loads of DLC.

Would be cool if Shepard could become new Illusive Man, just imagine: we see IM's place, with the red/blue star, and Shepard is sitting there completely like IM, smoking a cigar and sipping whiskey with IM's theme from ME2 as a background. And the credits roll

"The remaining Reapers are in full retreat."



A familiar voice: "Good, tell Joker to track them. We'll hunt them into dark space if we have to."



Miranda: "Very good Commander. Or should I say, Illusive Man?"



Camera pans to show Shepard sitting in TIM's chair. As the camera focuses on his face, he opens his eyes (which are now exactly like TIM's) and smiles.



This would be my dream renegade ending.

i want Shepard to hijack Harbinger and take over the Reaper fleet, fly over to the Citadel and epic falcon punch that reporter lady before telling the council "here's your damn reapers, jackasses"



Shepard, Garrus and Tali then ride off into the sunset straddling 3 reapers like giant space horses while M4 faunts plays as the game fades to credits

Not sure if someone already has written this, but it would be great if Shepard finds out that the Reapers are plotting massive attacks against the Citadel, Earth, Palaven, Thessia etc. Shepard realises that the only way to stop the Reapers is to permanently shutting down the mass relays, all races in the galaxy are now safe from the Reapers, but are no longer as capable to interstellar travel as they used to be.

No, that is exactly what i fear most. I respect your idea and i think it is a really good one, but i just would be upset if that happened. I had this same feeling towards the ending of battlestar galactica.

No, that is exactly what i fear most. I respect your idea and i think it is a really good one, but i just would be upset if that happened. I had this same feeling towards the ending of battlestar galactica.

i can see it in they normandy when it escapes the explosion in ME2

Shepard doesn't have enough allies or strategic advantages, leading to the deaths of him, and all sentient life in the galaxy.

Okay seriously... the best ending for me would be:

- The Reapers are defeated. Properly defeated! No stupid "OR WERE THEY?" endings please BW!

- The Turian councillor eats his words.

- Liara gets her ass off that stupid ship and marries Shepard already.

- The Krogan are not cured of the genophage, but the council hopes that one day they can be.

- The Quarians finally get it through their thick skulls that maybe colonising new worlds might be a better idea than centuries of drifting and/or fighting the Geth.

- Cerberus is destroyed. TIM is dead.

- Miranda is dead. Maybe tortured first.

- Jacob gets laid. He really needs to.

- Garrus, Tali, and Wrex are all alive and well. Wrex's efforts at uniting the Krogan are going well.

- Ashley's sex change is complete. Her... I mean his now fully-male brain realises that poetry is boring.

- Everyone lives happily ever after.

If you watched and remember in tv-show Star Gate was race ancient. As a result of the cataclysm their race became extinct, but they have not disappeared, they ascended - they came to possess knowledge and power, but they not interfered in the affairs of mortals.

Dear Lord, how I hate that idea...that concept.

- Liara gets her stupd ass killed. In a horrible and slow way preferably.
- The Krogan are semi-cured. Tehy ge their reproduction up, but not to the rate it was before.
- The Quarians anihhilate the Geth and re-settle their homeworld.
- Miranda takes over Cerberus.
- TIM buys a private eden-like island/planet and retires, creatign a vacation resort. Shep coms to his wild parties.
- Tali dies from scale-itch.
- Garrus becomes a Specter.
- Jacob and Wrex are all alive and well. Wrex's efforts at uniting the Krogan are going well.
- Ashley reserves poetry quoting for her monthy book club meetings.
- Kelly becomes the galaxy's most famous exotic dancer and rakes in millions. She creates a buisness empire of her own (and visits TIM's parties).

My favorite ending would be an epic Hero like moment.
Imagine:
You see some closed doors with a Alliance and a Cerberus Logo at each side from first person. The door Opens, you walk forward, past every team member that you had( if they survived that is), they salute you and the camera turns left and you see a view of the Ship you are on, with the Normandy safely docked in a Hangar you can view from above.
Then the Camera changes position and you see Commander Shepard standing on the Bridge of a Mayor Dreadnaught with every team Member he always had behind him looking out the window across the ship. The camera the slowly while picking up speed moves backwards to show the whole ship and the fleet behind it, which consists of a gigantic amount of Starship from every known race.
Then the camera turns around an you see A dark shadow appearing. (this could be a gigantic reaper (maybe the first one ever created) or a new unknown enemy).
Then the screen goes black and you just hear your love interest or Joker (if you did not romance anyone) saying: "Your orders Commander?"

Your orders General would be better!

Shepard defeats the Reapers with the help of all the reject races (Humans, krogan, Rachni, Quarian and Geth) without the help of the Council races. Then heads up to meet the Illusive Man in person.... and kills him. He then takes over Cerberus, assuming the identity of TIM with no one noticing. Only Wrex, the Geth (Legion), Rachni Queen, Tali, the squad, Liara (SB) and Anderson know the truth. He then orders the army that defeated the reapers towards Council space to use the remaining Collector Base technology against the Council races and stablish permanently the non-council races council composed of the reject races mentioned above.

You're not counting relevant conversation choices, not just important choices (kill him, spare that choices).

As the final Reaper falls to the ground and explodes, Rodney Dangerfield appears on a balcony in N7 armour and declares that everyone's going to get laid. The crowd cheers while a surviving keeper dances to "I'm All Right" as the credits roll.
