London is where David Anderson was born! What war was Anderson involved in? THE FIRST CONTACT WAR!
It's all coming together now (I am such a genius :P ).

ZOMG! Someone went back in time with a prototype Incisor rifle to assassinate Anderson!

You know, a brand new modern sniper rifle will not differ a lot than one in the 60s, at least in appearance.

One in the 60s also will not be an exact match to a brand new modern one.

It's not an exact match.

Modern sniper rifles do actually look pretty different than sniper rifles from 50 years ago.

The modern ones are uglier in my opinion.

Compare an M21 or M40 to an M39. Or a Steyr SSG 69 to a Steyr HS .50.

The support at the front is removed, and the tone is duller, but its otherwise an exact match. Its not even debatable.

Anyway, I updated the OP with The Clash info. I also removed the Murder clues as I dont think they're associated with BioWare's game at all.

Awesome find concerning SIS... very interesting how you linked that to Anderson as well.  One can only hope...

HOLY **** I JUST NOTICED!

(or did anyone else already notice this?)

This soldier guy has the same pattern (the hexagons) on his sleeve as miranda. Meaning this is a cerberus operative?

I could go on to speculate further: This is either alliance evrsus cerberus stuff, or a game during the first contact war, maybe featuring the young illusive man?

Yeah, some people noticed it from the first pages. It could be just an art direction thing though...

I wonder how everyone will react if it ends up not being a Mass Effect game.

Poorly.

But it has to be, doesn't it?  Otherwise, why drop hints?  The entire purpose of a hint is so that those being given them could figure out the answer.  If it's an entirely new game unrelated to anything else, there's no way we could figure it out.  Giving hints for something we couldn't possibly know the answer to would be a complete waste of time.

Plus, I wouldn't think BW would repeat themselves so soon.  What's the press release gonna be if this is something that isn't Mass Effect?  "Behold our futuristic shooter!  Which looks EXACTLY LIKE OUR OTHER FUTURISTIC SHOOTER!"  God, even Cliffy B. isn't that soulless and mercenary and that dude would jam a plastic fork in his thigh if you gave him forty bucks and some hair gel.

So the Logic Eight-Ball says all signs point to ME.  Of course "BioWare" and "Logical Marketing" have been known to be mutually exclusive (See: Zero, Subject).

Maybe Bioware is trying to mislead us with these hints.

The new game also reminds me of Shattered Steel, I'm not sure if you've heard of that game but it was one of Bioware's first games and IIRC that was an FPS.
I'm not sure if anyone's waiting on a remake or reboot of that game though.

Shattered Steel was one of the earlier guesses, and I think people worked out that Interplay still owned the rights to the IP, not BioWare or EA. I could be wrong, but if thats true they effectively could not 'reboot' Shattered Steel unless it were under a new name. I dont really see what the soldier teaser has to do with mechs either.

I personally think its heading towards Mass Effect. As I point out in the op, there's a ton of evidence weighing on some new ME game, whether its the Montreal spin-off or ME3. Its entirely possible its something else though. Either way, I'm excited for December 11 to see what BioWare have cooking!

I'm not so sure about that.

http://forums.biowar...458408&forum=13

I know this is a very old message, but here Chris Priesly is talking about a Shattered Steel 2. I think he's talking like it's still possible for them to create a Shattered Steel 2.
Of course they were not interested but that was 5 years ago...

You do have a point about the mechs.

Five years go is quite a long time.

I mean, who knows what it could be. It might be Shattered Steel 2. I think though, with the clues we have, the far more likely scenario is Mass Effect. So far most of the Shattered Steel 2 ideas seem to relate entirely that one iron clue, which for me is not enough, especially when that too relates to Mass Effect.

Holy crap it really is...

Look at the armor too. The pattern on the arm in the second picture looks very Mass Effect-ey.
