look its probably not ME3 or ME2 dlc its actually a new game, a zombie game in fact. maybe but not likely for ME2 (I don’t believe so) the proof is in the vga trailer showing pics of what look like zombies but the biggest was the "infected count" sign
The zombie teaser has nothing to do with BioWare's game. That's likey Prototype 2 from Activision.

a) Given all the references to the British and London, the fact that the window is shot in (which means that our mystery dude is fighting in a shot up warzone, rather than just being an assassin), and the fact that said mystery dude looks suspiciously British, I'd say some or most of the game is set in a war torn London.
Anyway, if it is a COD clone, well, then at least ME3 will be more rpg focused. But i think it is possible for it to be a multiplayer fps without copying COD or losing that Mass Effect magic. Here's to wishful thinking

There is a biohazard sign. There is no BioWare logo or anything related to BioWare on any of the teasers. And the Murder Your Make website, which is related to the zombie teaser, was (they removed it) hosted by Activision servers.
It has nothing to do with BioWare's game.

Maybe the guy with the incisor is Shepard after waiting a few decades for the Reapers to arrive?
That's a stretch.
He really doesnt look like anything CG Bioware has ever shown of Shepard.

There's a part of me that would like the new game to be a spin-off without Shepard primarily because it'd be great to have our own unique character in Mass Effect like the Grey Warden in Dragon Age: Origins. Not to mention having our Shepards interact with our unique characters could be pretty interesting since our save files will likely carry over.
However, the possibility still exists that we may be playing as Shepard. I can see the trailer now, Earth is being attacked and soldiers are under heavy fire and in comes Shepard to save the day.
I think it's interesting that the devs are staying out of this topic. I guess this trailer is so secretive that the devs can't afford their usual clever quips.
I really believe Shepard's story is going to end with the trilogy. BioWare have been saying this is Shepard's story, and we know ME3 will not spell the end of the Mass Effect related games. As great as Shepard is, she/he isn't going to be the only Mass Effect character, so yeah, if this is indeed a spin-off game I expect Shepard to not make any appearance at all. Much like the books and the comics, its all about telling another story about other characters in the same universe.
As for the devs keeping out, they probably just dont want to spoil the surprise. The thread WAS stickied at one point, but was unstuck shortly after I added the QR codes that flashed up in a couple of VGA trailers, likely because they had nothing to do with this game.
It would be nice for another clue though. BioWare? ...please?
I sure hope Shepard's story ends with the trilogy, but I doubt they'll keep Shepard's story separate from any other characters in the Mass Effect Universe. I expect Shepard will eventually interact with Kai Leng and Kahlee Sanders. If there is a new unique character in a Mass Effect spin-off, I don't think Bioware would be 100% against the two stories crossing.
I definitely think that Bioware is trying to keep this new game under wraps. They barely gave us anything to work with and look what we've found! Another hint and they'd be screwed.

My apologies, but how does one look "suspiciously British?" People look like Vinnie Jones everywhere.
Anyway, I'm willing to bet, in any case, that the man with the rifle is gonna bite it a couple of seconds after these shots we've seen. Mark my words, this is just some mook with a two second shelf-life.

Yeah, ... it's not the most scientific description, just a purely subjective statement.
He may die quickly, but it would be a waste of CGI (and their time and money) for Bioware to give us our first glimpse of the next game only to tell us that it doesn't matter at all.
Then again, they did say intoduce ME2 by saying "Commander Sheppard is KIA!!!" only to bring him back 5 minutes after he dies.

And think of it this way: If the first image we see was actually supposed to matter in a meaningful way, then they wouldn't have shown it to us. Otherwise, they wouldn't be throwing out these maddening clues.

But he just doesn't have that "random grunt who's gonna die for no reason" look. He doesn't seem like a red-shirt. Basically, he looks to cool to die for no reason. But again, I'm being purely subjective here.

And our man with the rifle doesn't have the level of detail put in him to be a major player. Remember Shepard in the first shot of the ME2 cinematic trailer? I could count his pores.

If it's a multiplayer game, ME3 will be delayed, giving them more time to work on it. So we get a
better ME3 while having a new game to tide us over.
And if it's ME3, that would obviously be awesome.
All that's left for us to do is "Hurry up and wait"

Exactly. My thought is this whole thing was a big distraction just to throw people off and get them curious. Build hype towards the reveal.
At least, that's what I get from the red herring.
