BioWare's next game - Information/speculation so far, BioWare Montreal, and Mass Effect FPS

All evidence point to this not being ME3. Especially how the trailer says "From the makers of Mass Effect". I don't think you'd need to say something like, "From the makers of Mass Effect 1 & 2, here's a brand new game called Mass Effect 3" Sounds stupid doesn't it?
I'm really betting on this being a brand new title, although the spin-off seemed likely, too. Either way, I'm pretty sure this is going to be a multiplayer based game with the normal campaign, just like halo and cod since they want to make a "popular" shooter.
Also, I'm almost positive that this sniper is up in Big Ben. Big Ben looks over that river and I can even point out where he's to in the tower! So no question you got a man with an inscisor in Big Ben, in London, probably working with the SIS (I don't think he's trying to assassinate anyone in there or help infiltrate it since the guy in the tower isn't looking in that direction), or at least some kind of spy/stealth aspect to the game.
Big Ben Location: http://imageupload.o...i=1312919601323
Where the sniper is: http://imageupload.o...di=012919601329
As for the the first and second clues,('55.845' mass of Iron and '-128.5°F' Coldest recorded temperature on Earth) I'm not exactly sure. The mass of fe CT(Coldest Temperature) is a big part of why I think it could be a spin-off. A more literal interpretation of these clues is that Vostok (place where the cold temperature was recorded) is a planet in ME and is known for it's iron.
So the teaser and the latest clues point to a spy game in London, and the first clues say ME.
So it's probably either a new title, or a spin-off shooter than just happens to be in the ME universe. Hopefully, if it's the spin-off thing, it will not affect the story at all, it'll only use tech and biotic aspects of ME in combat to make an immersive online shooter.
(Also great job, EatChildren!)

I'm wondering what woul a multiplayer in ME play like. Can you imagine being lifted and thrown away off the bridge in 1 second without getting to play?? This could happen as there are always players who gain enormous advantage over others shortly after the release of a game. This would suck. Given the ME abilities only a few could in fact play the game. The rest would be stasised, lifted, thrown, disrupted, overloaded and so on. This would totally suck.
Hope this is not a multiplayer.

i agree but i am a very big mass effect 3 multiplayer supporter but not big massive online thing i want drop in drop out co-op where your freinds can play as grunt, miranda, jack, or etc but i dont want it to affect the choices you make that would make mass effect 3 possible to be the best game in the world if they keep the epic story and immersiveness of it anywayszkasypcze wrote...
Apparently there are some new materials at the VGA website. We need EatChildren on that one.

Next, multiple sources have come forward with evidence and claimed the mystery project to be Mass Effect 3. Now I don't believe I have heard any confirmation/denial from Bioware themselves anywhere, but I did come across this video on you tube. In it, the chick says that someone from Bioware/EA has come forward and said it is NOT ME3. The date of the video, however, is Nov. 19th. Is there any truth to this? Has anyone from Bioware or EA made any official statements about the teaser/project? Here's the video:
EatChildren, please keep the facts coming, even though there's merely less than 48 hours now til everything gets cleared up lol.

Here's one extra detail:

Altough it looks like Big Ben, what's outside the window doesn't look at all like that part of London (the bank of Thames looks round in the teaser). Maybe it's just the ruin of Big Ben in a different time.
edit:
on second look and considering the latest leaked image, the thing outside is just a fence. You can also see three silhouettes in the teaser trailer. But the interior still looks like a clock tower.

I think the red herring is the sniper himself. We're all speculating that he's either the main character of the next game (if it's not ME3) or a new squaddie (if it is ME3) or a younger version of someone we already know (if it's a prequel). My guess is that he's a random guy who gets offed quite quickly in the trailer, and the way he dies reveals what the next game will me about (maybe he gets taken out by a Reaper, or Shepard, etc.).
I agree. Do you remeber one of the trailers of ME2? The one where the camera showed N7 armor from down to top and in the end SURPRISE...Legion. Think about it. Taking into consideration this new teaser, what would we think about ME2 after the teaser with Legion?
I also agree that BW realised that fans figured out the riddle very quick, thus the red herring. BTW - someone posted the Red Herring is the name of one of ships in ME universe. Going to investigate...

Lots of great speculation here guys. I'll keep the OP updated as more facts come in. I'm avoiding posting the Kotaku and Joystiq rumours, but I might put them in later.

dunno where the op seeing the incisor sniper rifle since i don't see it anywhere
maybe you want it to be an ME game.
but it surely doesn't even look like it is in the same universe
to me it looks more like a COD Clone 6784
hell i do not even want ME3 to play on earth or even close to it heck that would be sooo lame and boring
since it is been done a million times before
and i sure do not want any CoOp/ multiplayer crap and call it ME3
if it's a teaser for a spinoff hell i don't care if they would multiplayer / CoOP or whatever in it
i just would not buy it

The character though... I brought up the fact that he looks like Michael Madsen when the screenshot first hit. Nobody else seemed to notice, so I thought I'd throw in some pictures.

Also note that Michael Madsen has experience in video game VO's. And BioWare has modeled characters after their voice actor's face. To pull of a realistic face, you have to base it on a real person. It might as well be the voice actor. And since Michael Madsen's voice is so distinct and people know what he looks like, using his face makes a lot of sense.
Here's a YouTube clip, if you still don't know who this guy is:
www.youtube.com/watch
So, if this guy opens his mouth in the teaser and Michael Madsen's voice comes out, I expect that you all will do the honorable thing and declare me your King.

Awesome find!
That fits quite nicely to my comparison of what's outside the sniper's hideout and the courtyard of the Houses of Parliament just behind Big Ben:

Edit: The problem so far was that most of us (including me) assumed that the green area we saw in the still was the Thames, but it is in fact just a lawn with small stone walls around it and a bigass Fence behind it.
If you look at the top of the fence you can see in the newest still, it looks exactly like the wrought iron fence around the Parliament courtyard.

Thanks to your additional find with the bolt this puzzle is now even more solved than it was yesterday!

It has to be. Looking how the teaser to this "mysterious" game is being teased, is not proof that it is not ME3.

To repeat what myself and others have said a thousand times over, it is the Incisor Rifle art asset slightly altered in texture and a removed chunk at the front. It is, without a shred of doubt, the Incisor Rifle with those minor changes.
Check the Op. I link to pictures that blatantly point it out. If you cant see it after those, you're blind.

It doesn't rule out it being a spin-off in the ME universe but it's definitely not ME3. Plus we already knew there would be an ME3, it's not a new mysterious game.

I don't think so. The lines next to the eyes look the same, but thats true for anyone who squints while taking aim. The lips look completely different: Michael Madsen doesn't have any, basically, whereas the sniper has a full set of 'em.

aparenly if they showed you a pic of a 6 wheel vehicle that looks nothing like the Mako you would still find something like '' hey it has 6 wheels .... it has to be mass effect3 since it is clearly a modified version of the Mako''
since you are doing the same with the Incisor rifle
