Total casualties of FCW: approx 1900 (humans + turians)
Casualties from 1 week of gang violence on Omega (as noted from Cerberus Daily News): 1100
Casualties from Garvug Coup (Corporate armies vs Krogan squatters from C Daily News): well over 2000, involved heavy orbital bombardment of cities and door to door extermination of 150 buildings.
Total timeline of FCW: approximately 2 months
Timeline of Garvug coup: 9 months and counting
So in conclusion, a war being fought between random Krogan warlords and a bunch of hired corporate mercenaries has gone on longer and involved more deaths than the ENTIRE First Contact War. How could anyone think that the FCW would make a good setting for ANY major project?

Let me draw up some comparisons for those people who honestly think that the First Contact War would make a good setting for a game (or film or anything big budget for that matter):

I watched that video some 30 times to get all of the information out of it I could, than read up some ME lore and spent a good amount of time putting it all into words so that everyone could see it to.
I agree with you, that would be a terrible game. It would be far too short and the only possible tie in they could do would be Ashley Williams (grand?)father, who was the commander at the time of invasion and surrender. You think maybe it's gonna follow him? and before you arrogantly disregard my ideas, how about actually taking into account what I said. please explain to me how the teased footage ties in at all to the Garvug Coup? what is human architecture doing on that planet, and why are the krogan suddenly mowing their lawns? and why is there grass on a "Frozen rock"? why is this human, wearing an old style of armor and using an old tech gun, running around Garvug during, or even after the orbital bombardment? why exactly would they tease a scene that far into the coup? And why is he using a bandage? its 2185 for christ's sake!

kinda pisses me off that they tried to make it seem like something different, got me all excited
Edit: I also got to thinking...this IS Spike that made the trailer...they could just be idiots.
time for my other idea:
Mass of FE, Coldest Temperature, something to do with the SIS or MI6, you figure it out, Im going to sleep

Anyway, makes me wonder whether BioWare does the usual damage control or rather remain quiet and pretend there are no leaks.FieryPhoenix7 wrote...
The reason I highly doubt this game is ME3 is because it looks... different. I don't know how to put it, but it just doesn't look like ME3. It's like they're using a completely different graphics engine. Or maybe it's a CG trailer? Like I just said, I don't know.

I don't get a Mass Effect vibe too but it's just a teaser.

I'm not sure why anyone would doubt this will be some sort of Mass Effect announcement. All these clues are not only being posted to BioWare's Twitter account @biofeed but also are being posted on the Mass Effect Twitter account @masseffect2.

This guy claims that the photo in the teaser looks very much like the Westminster and the Thames river.
This works well with the latest clue that Bioware released
Once again, I admit my grammer sucks.

Even if the title is in the FPS format, that doesn't mean it will suck. Metroid Prime and Fallout 3 used this format. Now if it's Call of Duty in Space on the other hand...
Don't even mention Metroid Prime. I'm rather scarred that this spinoff, if sucessful, could pretty much ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL of the Mass Effect franchise, which, like Metroid, could potentially be subject to 20,000,000 prequels that fail to advance the plot forward beyond the most recent game in the series' chronology...

You've gotta be kidding me.
I never said it had anything to do with Garvug. I only was showing that the First Contact War was a joke. I was comparing the FCW to a VERY small military engagement that we know of to show how ridiculous it would be to make a game out of it.
Your complete incomprehension of what I was saying does speak volumes for your "conclusions" though.

Anyway, although all of the details pointed out so far are pointing towards some sort of prequel, I'm very surprised no one even considered that it could be Mass Effect 3. The pre-rendered CG trailer for Mass Effect 2 didn't look much like Mass Effect at all either, minus the obvious story details from Mass Effect. Keep in mind we only saw a few seconds of this trailer. If you saw just the part of the ME2 trailer where Jack breaks out, what would you think? While it does look extremely likely that this is a spinoff, I still kind of hope this teaser turns out to be just a flashback or some sort of mission on Earth.
The only problem with the First Contact War theory is the gun itself... Has the Incisor really been around that long? I assumed most of the Mass Effect weapons were originally of alien design, but of course now someone is going to shove a codex entry I missed in my face and laugh.

If this game is a prequel, its almost certainly going to be set in the Skyllian Blitz, since that's the largest conflict mankind has been engaged in in ME. Unless of course, we're going to be Black Ops soldiers of some sort...
