Nevermind, I think that's just EA talking about the 2 games and not Bioware.

not M16. MI6. as in "i" the letter.
also that rifle is definately NOT an M16.

it does have one odd feature for a mass effect gun though, one that shouldnt be there....and wasn't on the original incisor.

it has a charging handle. this may be a simple design oversight, but when i saw that i immediatly thought "gunpowder". mass effect guns dont load from magazines, so the charging handle is unecessary....but maybe this is just me thinking way too hard about this...

the black widow had a bolt...<_<

A lot of people seem to be dismissing it being ME3 because we don't know who that guy is. One thing people are forgetting here is the footage we saw is probably like 5 seconds out of a 60 second or even 90 second teaser trailer.

The footage we saw was a teaser OF A teaser trailer. It's part of a larger video, just a small snippet, so we don't know what's going on besides what we saw. Who knows, maybe in the rest of the trailer you see the Normandy and Shepard and crew. Keep that in mind.

In that case I would like to be Mass Effect 3, happening on Earth fighting the reapers.

But if it is new setting i would also be happy as well.

Well the fact that this has been stickied pretty much confirms that the announcement is definitely an ME spin off game for the COD fans before the trilogy has even ended.

That's terrific. /sarcasm

OP has been updated to include the latest two QR codes, and some additional speculation.

I know I'm completely dismissing almost all evidence and clues here, but could it be a reaper indoctornated assasin taking a shot at Shepard?

If Shepards die and is resurrected again, I swear I am hitting someone.

That said.

It's probably the spin-off ME game. The trailer did say "From the creators of Mass Effect/Dragon Age. It would be strange to announce ME3 after just saying they created the ME series.

Just my guess.

The spin-off thing will happen eventually. Its a given. If this isn't the spin-off, the spin-off will come later. We know for sure that BioWare Montreal are working on something big related to Mass Effect. We just dont know what.

Or hmm, maybe it was stickied because we needed a designated place for the "speculation" mentioned in the title. Maybe we didn't need 15 threads popping up daily and maybe we just needed a place for mods to redirect people. There have been much more biased threads sticked in the past because we needed a place to avoid floods to similar topics. One such occasion I remember was a period where 5+ threads were popping up every few hours on the matter of how squadmates would return and the thread that was largest was stickied. The mods aren't official representatives of Bioware, they're here to just moderate what we do and to make sure this is an equivalent forum for all different discussions, not a place to listen to many different groups all trying to shout over one another.

What KingDan97 said. I wouldnt look to deeply into my thread getting stickied. It was likely stickied to keep information and discussion in one place, rather than a bazillion threads popping up every five minutes.

Plus I plan to keep the OP updated with clues as they come in, so it will be a handy place to see what we know so far.

I have a question: If BioWare is giving us all these hints and apparently asking us to "look closer", wouldn't it be logical to assume that this game is something we're actually aware of and not a completely new IP? I mean, you can't hint on something the audience doesn't know of in the first place.

I dont think the 'Look Closer' part is neccessarily BioWare related anymore. The VGA trailers are showing multiple game teasers, like the New Vegas DLC and something zombie related, so I suspect the 'Look Closer' thing is just a way of saying "HAY GUYS, there's hints in our videos. Check it!".

Though at this point everything BioWare related seems to point to Mass Effect. December 11 is still bloody ages away though, so we'll probably end up with a ton more confusing clues :D.

I sincerely doubt it's ME3 though. Could be a Mass of Duty: Effect Warfare title or something.

I don't see why people are ****ting themselves over this. This and ME3 are being produced at the same time by two different branches. You should be happy. With a pure shooter coming out, it means ME3 will be more RPGish.

The timing's about right for an ME3 announcement, given that they want to get the game done within a similar timeframe that it took for ME2. Evidence points to that just a little more stronger than any of the other ideas being thrown around that almost top all the 2012 theories in ridiculousness.

Bioware Montreal wouldn't be the ones to make ME3. Besides, the trailer honestly look nothing like ME, except the fact that the incisor is in there.

People are probably going to hate me for this, but I think a game like 'borderlands' set in the ME universe would be fantastic. The game is a shooter with a fantastic story, and the multilayer option is co-op. Exploration is also greatly encouraged and sometimes rewarded. Skills and leveling also allow you make a unique character as you can never get all the skills even at level 60.

Think of it: the characters could be an asari biotic, a krogan tank, a human soldier, or a turian sniper. All I ask is a casual difficulty level I can fall back on. ME3 and Shepard's story won't be affected.

I really like this possibility, even though it seems to be a rumor:

http://kotaku.com/56...player-spin off

I've wanted to fight ME style multiplayer a long time now.  Considering that the ME franchise has yet to do multiplayer, a spin off in that vain would be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

The yellow flashes remind me of Shepard's visions, although his visions are tinged red.  These are yellow.  I'm pretty sure I see a mushroom cloud a couple of times as well.

The "SIS" hint is awesome.  If it's not Mass Effect, and more if it is, a spy game by bioware could be pretty cool.

Mass Effect should not be bastardized by being given a "COD" type shooter. If anything Mass Effect deserves a FORCED OBJECTIVE BASED COOPERATIVE multiplayer mode that has the very same method of playing as ME2 does. Cept they could add that certian classes get the ability to hack wall computers or the stronger classes can move objects physically etc.

It shouldn't be a mindless shooter just for the immature COD players. That would be like take the stick they already stabbed us with (By giving the PS3 owners free crap we bought..) and shoving it further up the cherry hole.

No. Not mindless. Bioware won't make a mindless game. There will be something RPGish about it. But not forced objective cooperative play necessarily, either. My mind is swimming with possibilities.

I'm excited to find out whatever it may be... multiplayer shooter or ME3, both would be awesome (ME3 would be more awesome obviously). But I too can see how a FPS ME could be awesome, maybe something along the lines of Fallout 3 or Bioshock.
