It seems almost no one on the Normandy can resist Cdr. Shepard’s feminine/masculine charms. But, as Highlander taught us, there can be only one. Whether your Shepard is the wrong gender, or simply choose another path romantically, how do you think the other LIs or NPCs would work as couples?  
 
Kasumi seems to have a thing for Jacob, though (if she ever gets over the Cerberus thing) Ashley and Jacob might make a good couple.  Ditto Kaiden and Miranda. 
 
I’ve seen a Tali/Kal’Reeger pairing bandied about, I like that a lot myself. Besides, Reeger is almost the “Quarian Shepard.”
 
What about EDI and Legion (they have already “interfaced”)?
 
Joker/Kelly?
 
But I really think Jack and Zaeed would make a good couple. Kelly calls Zaeed remarkably stable given the life he’s lead, plus he’s looking to retire and settle down. That sort of stability could be the best thing for Jack, short of Shepard himself of course.

Well, after spending odd hours before the screen,  I had a wonderful crack-pairing come to mind that I just can´t seem to shake off now - and since you posted such a topic, I also cannot resist replying:
Zaeed ought to go well with Helena Blake. Old warhorses, sharing their harsh love to the rest of the world/s. First they exhaust you with the wall of reminesence and then shoot you to shreds (Zaeed) and morale you to death (Blake).
Good god, I need DLC or ME3 before anything stranger happens with my mind=]

As for Jack - Zaeed´s looking to retire (possibly with a bang at Omega) and Jack still has places to go. Pirating and enjoying adventurous/murderous life (I quite like Jack, don´t get me wrong...). But I guess sex would be great between the two, and who´s to care if the room´s wrecked the morning after:D

Also, Miranda bringed back Shep to life thanks Liara's help. I don't know if I would effectively like this... but it would be at least plausible.



Garrus maybe should at least have a quick relationship with Kelly, or go for his old friend Tali, if she remains aboard instead of go away with Kal'Reagar.



Jack and Zaeed sounds... odd... but at least Nassani may become a decent mentor for her.



I've also immediately thinked that the spirituality side of Thane may fashinate Ashley Williams... if only she becames a little less xenophobic.

Although I like Ash with Shepard much more (obveously) Ash and Kaidan would be good if it wasnt for Virmire. Ash and Joker seem good, if only for this cute picture.

Shepard is perfect for anyone, because Shepard is well… perfect. 

I think this is why Miranda is so attracted to him, she sees him as everything she was supposed to be. She thinks he makes her better, and, in a way, she’s right. Shepard gives Miranda the one thing she lacks, a positive view of herself. 

I think Kaiden could do much the same, he has a strong moral center, he’s also intelligent, good looking, and competent in his field.

I think Zaeed is trustworthy, in a way he’s one of the most honest characters in the game. He never tries to hide who or what he is or does.  His temper does get the better of him from time to time, but that's not really dishonest. more of flaw (he is only human after all) 

It’s true that someone with a more “sedate” profession like Helena Blake or Kelly would fit into his future plans a lot better than Jack and it’s also true that Jack may not be ready to settle down,

I just like Jack, she deserves a little stability in her life, I think that’s what Shep. gives her, I feel Zaeed could do the same. Though the sex between the two would certainly be explosive (I say literally).
 
If Jacob tried to feed his “priiiiiize” line to Ash I think she would give herself the ol’ face-palm before telling him to shut up and take off his goddamn shirt! 

Ash is an incredibly attractive, undeniably strong woman in the “man’s world” of the military, she knows how to deal with dopey lines. Hell, “the priiiiiize" probably isn’t the worst she’s heard. Nah, it’s the worst ANYONE has ever heard.

Oh wow, I can definitely see this.  I really do think their personalities would mesh well together.  Well, I don't know how patient Aethyta would be with his anecdotes... but I can also picture her telling him to shut the hell up, and Zaeed responding with something like "Damnit woman, I love that foul mouth of yours."

hmm this is a nice thread....it would be awesome if we could see some npc and npc romance development instead of just shepard and npc.

...granted in my games Virmire always ruins that but I still love the idea of those two together.

Aethyta’s quite the story teller herself. I think she and Zaeed would really enjoy each other’s company on a lot of levels. Plus it'd make the T’soni family reunions all that much more interesting.

Ok, call me crazy… but what about Aria and Garrus?



They’re both though as nails, and his sly humor works well with her “don’t f’ with Aria” attitude, they balance each other. And she’s not a criminal, not really. She’s more like the “unofficial queen” of Omega.

Wrex is the only one worthy of Aria in my opinion.^ It's even implied that she is "Aleena" when she says "better luck next time". Garrus could help take care of some of her "personal" problems, being an assassin, but I think he may eventually crack under pressure.

What about Thane and Samara? Both are very mature and hold spiritual views, they also have careers which involve a lot of killing. I think they would work well together. The only complication I can see is that Samara may question the morals of Thane's assassinations.

Both also have an air of tragedy about them, Thane's wife has been killed and he has got a very limited time before he dies. Samara suffers the hardship of only being able to give birth to Ardat-Yakshi, and her profession causes her to occasionally clash with innocent civilians, which leaves her feeling regretful. I think they might be able to find common ground here and bond through their personal troubles.
