If they aren't an entirely new creature, they'll be placed under the 'personal handwave' heading for me, in the same way that, in my games, Alistair isn't in his early 20s or (most unbelievable of all) 19. Eamon is not 45. And those emmissaries? A new enemy, perhaps the result of the Architect's experimentations.
Wait, Eamon was supposed to be 45?
Alistair looked and behaved like he was in his early 20s (and really, so were all the origin NPCs when you think about it) but Eamon was only 45?

Which is why I don't get all the love for 38 year old Claudia Black voicing Morrigan. She sounded 38, and Morrigan is, I thought, supposed to be in her early 20s.
Liking Claudia Black's or her voice is fine, but it sounded totally wrong to me in the role.

I can't find the quote, since it was on the old forums, but as far as I can remember David Gaider said that Morrigan was in her late 20s/early 30s.

I'm pretty sure you're incorrect. I remember just a few months back Gaider basically confirming that Maric is Morrigan's father, making her just a few years older than Allistair.

Well, I still can't find any developer quotes, but some posts on the old forums back up what I said, here and here.
"This may be because David has told us she's in her late twenties - early thirties."
"Also, we know Morrigan is in her late 20's to early 30's."

He hasn't. And Morrigan has been said to be in her late twenties many times.

I doubt that's true.
Makes the whole "alistair doing the DR" even more creepy.

No, Morrigan is supposed to be late twenties, early thirties. Gaider mentioned it in the old forums and I've surely quoted it somewhere...

May be true, but something about it bugged me. And that won't change unless they go back into DA:O, make her look older, or use a younger VO. But I've heard enough to drop the issue.

I saw it as that she got her speech patterns almost solely from Flemeth, and thus she has the same inflection as someone older, as opposed to Alistair, that would have learned along with other children.
Alistair that btw has an older VA than Morrigan, but I don't see any people saying that he sounds 40.

I just wish that any Dev would confirm that the new emissary look is unified and emissaries are a new um breed of Darkspawn if you will or that this is specifically a Shriek emissary..........
This.
In DAO, emisaries were hurlocks or genlocks who could use magic - not a separate species/breed. Tha kind of retcon bothers me.
Now, if the image we have are just Shriek emisaries, I'm okay with it.

And the genlocks looked yellowish to me in the playthrough. I would expect them all to be so in the browness of Dragon Age 2.

He's full of butt hats. That rumour has been going around forever, about the only thing Gaider has confirmed about it is that he is not ever going to confirm it one way or another, at least not on the boards. Something like that would turn up in game or at least in a tie-in novel.

Now that I've finished boarding up my windows, I can answer this one:
It's easy, he's a better voice actor.

Why would you want to change morrigan's voice now that everione is acostumed to it? To confuse people

I don't want to change it. I just don't think her performance as Morrigan was as great as everyone else does. It's entirely subjective.

Alright, thanks for clarification.
