So, we're expected to believe a translation from a Russian sub-division of Sony, who don't even have Mass Effect yet, to be correct in saying that it is 100% sure Mass Effect 3? Yeah, no. I'd like it to be Mass Effect 3, but there's little credibility (no offense to Russians everywhere).

Maybe the ME spinoff was confused for ME3?

It seems a little to early to hear news regarding ME3. Im hoping for news regarding ME3 to come around late 2011 at the earliest. BW needs more time to increase the RPG elements of the game.

I'm thinking mid 2011, around E3.

If it's in Russian, divide credibility by 4 or so. Just a cultural thing, no offense.

But, seriously, ME3 was confirmed few years ago indeed.

No one is saying ME3 wasn't confirmed. We all know it's coming out. We're discussing if the footage is ME3 or not.

Also, let's not forget that actually a source in Russia first announced ME2 was coming to PS3 and we know how that went.

It doesn't take a Russian website to know that ME3 will be announced soon enough. It's not like this is revolutionary news in any way. And this is in no way a confirmation. A confirmation can only come from Bioware or EA. Everything else is rumors.

I highly doubt it's Mass Effect 3, source is not reliable. I'm leaning towards the multiplayer spin-off theory, but if it indeed turns out be Mass Effect 3... I'm going to need a new pair of boxer briefs.

Is that post on Twitter still there? Or is it taken out?

That's what I think, too.

Too early to hear about ME3? Lol, did everyone forget ME2 was shown about a year after ME1 came out? It's already been almost a year since ME2. The timing makes perfect sense.

Wrong.
ME1 was released in 2007.
We got a teaser trailer in 2009.

Yeah ME went absent after the turnover, we got a port and promise of DLC but nothing was heard until 2009

Its ironic that the same thing is happening to ME 2 in a way! rofl, minus the turnover that is

When was ME2 officially unveiled? As in announced? Was it not 2008? Forget the footage then.

The Legion teaser was released in Feb 2009, ME2 was officially announced shortly after in March. So it was announced about 15 months after the ME1 Xbox release.

Some people here are so pessimistic :( Okey, if you don't belive it's ME3 then why forcing your oppinion on those who do? Bioware didn't confirm nor denied anything. So we all free to think what we want.

I personally hope for ME3 :)

Ok, so the first footage shown around 14 months after ME1 released. Next month will be 11 months since ME2 came out. not really a big difference... And we know Bioware said they don't want to take that long with ME3

There wasn't a PS3 release last time, though. That's the only reason I don't think the timing is right. Whether 11 or 14 or 56 months have passed since ME2 was released makes no difference. There's still life in ME2 as it's being brought to a new market, so how is announcing it's sequel, which will also be available to that market, a good idea?

Also, true or not, why would EA/BioWare allow the cat to be let out of the bag by SCEE Russia? The fact that the message is still there doesn't necessarily give it more credence. Either way, EA/BioWare should want the message removed.

Yeah, because we don't already know Bioware is working on ME3? An announcement wouldn't give a date, only a fancy trailer.

It is worth noting though that a BioWare official did state that bringing Mass Effect 2 on PS3 does NOT impact their established time frame for ME3.

As we all knew there would be a Mass Effect 2 and 3 when we were playing ME1, the official acknowledgement of their being a ME3 isn't so much of a problem. Showing anything in the form of videos and screenshots potentially is though, as it could work against ME2 on PS3.

An ME3 tease effectively belittles ME2 and would stand a good chance of negatively impacting sales. Why would people want to spend £40/$60 on a game that's already been superseded? It's like if they showed us the trailer of ME2 before ME1 was released. It has the potential to spoil ME2 for PS3 gamers (depending on the content shown) and starts the hype for a game that isn't the one they're currently bringing to market.

True, but as we still don't know when they plan to release ME3, this doesn't favour either side.

Bioware... please add UnrealEd for Mass Effect 3, or I'm gonna be very... very disappointed.

ME3 has not been announced yet. The article is speculating like all the rest.
