I know for sure that installing the latest official patch for BG 2 doesn't even come close to fixing all the bugs in the game. I'm not sure about BG 1.

What is the best way to fix all the bugs in BG 2?  I looked into Baldurdash, but I've read that it's now obsolete. Are there any methods that are more updated?

And do I also need to install something unofficial to fix the bugs in BG 1, or would installing the official patch for BG 1 (along with its expansion Tales of the Sword Coast) be enough?

For BG2 you want the G3 BG2 Fixpack.

There are fixes for BG1 in both EasyTutu and BGT.

Overall you'd have the least bugs from using the G3 BG2 Fixpack (not compatible with EasyTutu) together with BGT.

Thanks! Should I install mods after or before G3 and BGT?

First the G3 Fixpack. Then BGT. Then everything else.

Edit:
Because of the topic title I will also mention that the more mods you install, the more bugs you will have.

Thanks for the warning Humanoid_Taifun. It's definitely something to keep in mind. When I made this thread I was just thinking of very obvious bugs that were in the unmodded version of the game but weren't fixed by the official patch (there are many of those).

I guess I'll have to use the console to work my way around the bugs that are caused by mods, but I might have to ask someone here first before irreparably messing up my game.
