Hello,
I've been playing for some time in BG Tutu (I am just outside of Baldur's Gate) and I have already reached the BGI/ToSC XP cap (161k). I plan to install BG2 Tweak Pack just for the XP cap remover. Will I be able to continue that point forward with a saved game?
Thanks for reading

The most resent post I've seen about this.. so I post here.

What I want is to get xp-cap in tutu to the same as in ToB (40 or so), I've tried everything but nothing seems to work. I can't seem to get over the 2950000 limit for SoA.

I've installed the Tweak pack one and tried some different BG2-mods, but with no luck.

Is there a manual workaround for this?

(and yes, I want to play BG1 as level 40 even tho it's easy)

Why don't you simply use BGT?

Did you use a SoA+ToB game as the basis for your Tutu install? Maybe that's the problem.

Yes I am using BGT and I have full SoA+ToB install.

The prolem is I still get the original SoA xp-cap nomatter what. First I tried ShadowKeeper, but couln't pass the SoA-cap.. Then I've played a bit and I can level beyond the cap in-game, but as soon as I save and re-load the level's are gone.

Seems to me that it's Tutu issue, but I haven't seen anyone else having this issue.

Whawhawhaaaaa?

I believe I'm misunderstanding. You have both BGT and Tutu installed?

If you are using BGT, I don't think you'd need a tweakpack to open up the XP cap.

Since your game is actually able to advance your level past the usual cap (but resets upon loading the game), my guess is that you have a mod running which is doing precisely that for you. What mods do you have installed?

You might try manually editing the xpcap.2da file in your override folder. If you open it (with a text editor such as notepad), in Tutu it says
2DA V1.0
2950000
just on top of the file, before naming all the xp-caps per character class. If any mod edits the character classes xp cap's, but leaves the 2950000 on top of the file intact, that seems like a possible cause the game won't let you advance beyond that.

It seems I'm confusing BGT with Tutu. No, I only use tutu and I suspect that with BGT I wouldn't be able to benfit from the ToB-added spells and skills as well as the BG2 engine (just a guess on my part as I haven't tried). As for mods, I havn't installed any part from the BG tweaks-xp-cap remover.

I have also tried the manual approach with notepad on the 2da-file and the bg-file, but with no luck.

There must be another file somewhere that shoves my chars back to 2950000 as soon as I load a game. But where it might be, I have no clue.

Thanks for the replies tho guys :)

I have finished BG1 at lvl 17 now and moved on to BG2 where this is not an issue

How did you reach that conclusion? BGT requires that all BG2 and ToB spells are there (otherwise BG2 and ToB would look a bit odd), so the mod with more probability to not contain these spells (just from the description, without looking at the actual code) would be Tutu, which does not stretch into BG2.

I've installed the Tweak pack one and tried some different BG2-mods

Did you mean you don't have anything from it installed except fot the XP cap remover or are you reconfiguring your installation after every single post?

Sorry if I'm being a bit vague.
By different BG2-mods I meant only xp-cap-remover types, that I have removed after they turned out not to work.

I will read up on BGT then, thanks for the help
