DA:O X360 - No post campaign save?

I (may) have a problem... I played DA:O on the Xbox, and when I exit the post-coronation hall, it says "checking save games", but does not create a post-campaign save. I deleted one of my older save games to make room, but no change. Will I need this post-campaign save to import into DA2 or can I also use the post-coronation save (I saved just before leaving the hall, after all the dialogues)? If not, how can I get my post-campaign save?
