The lack of Hackett was what made the N7 missions incomparable to the UNC missions from ME1. Moar Hackett!

Here´s to hoping they remedy that lack in ME3, with interest.
I agree completely, the mission screen was a complete meh compared to the briefings that actually made you care about your mission.
I ´m hopeful - with Earth´s involvement there are bound to be Alliance officials with whom you need to speak. And since Anderson could be the Councilor, that leaves one familiar voice that has us hooked

I support this - Hackett is great, it would be nice to see him for the first time in ME3 but I would already be happy if we get his voice back

Hackett needs to return in ME3 IMO, but as a fully fledged character rather than as just a voice coming over the ship's comm. Shep should meet him in person finally and he should appear in the final battle cutscene, leading the Alliance fleet.

Yeah, having him at all would be great but I agree that his role as an Admiral and his interest in you - I mean the tags and the lovely "request denied" from the LotSB - should get us some Hackett screen-time.

I can't wait to be mean to him. That old bastard used me one to many times in ME1.

Specifically, this is the Medical Bay, where Doctor Chakwas is.

So it turns out that it was the Admiral who got Chackwas to love the Serrice Ice Brandy...

Well he needs to get his scars fixed so he wanted to use that thing to remove scars like Shepard.

You do realize that you don't have to complete those missions, right?
Anyhoo... ten creds says that Hackett and Chakwas are on a first-name basis with each other.

Hackett is probably my favorite character from the first Mass
Effect. Hearing Hackett’s voice on the UNC missions was one of the highlights
of my experience in that game. Anderson may well be a good character and his
voice acting was exceptional, but when it comes to the best Alliance character…there
is no contest. I remember Hackett’s voice after one rescue mission, where
Hackett expected you to play the hero (save the drugged scientists). Hackett
didn’t explicitly decry you for failing…but the tacit disappointment/disapproval
was palpable. That was the first and only time I felt regret over a decision in
a videogame. In contrast, the praise you received for saving all of them was
equally great in another way. I actually felt a sense of pride for finishing
that mission without any losses, also a videogame first for me. Henriksen is an
exquisite voice actor and his character is so…authentic, congruent, real. When
Hackett was giving a mission I didn’t care about earning XP or morality points,
I actually wanted to please a fictional character whose responses I knew I
could manipulate with button presses. Immersion is often praised as one of the
best things a videogame experience can offer, and that exchange offered the
most immersion I have ever experienced. Kudos to Bioware and kudos to Henriksen
for that.
I normally disapprove of all of the "gigglesquee" and "kawaii" nonsense, but…when I saw that Hackett was in Arrival…
I…
I…
Gigglesqueed.
Hard.
Disclaimer: I have no desire to "nom" his head.

This is all a little weird to me. I have just been replaying ME1, comparing it with ME2 as I played. Thinking how much more Awesome ME1 is with Admiral Hackett always there giving you updates, chatting and guiding you through quests. Even when you think a quest is over, there is an unexpected com chat from him, telling you how well you did. I Loved it!
Now I find they have DLC with Hackett back, for ME2. Outstanding! I only hope they don’t kill him off so he can be back to giving you updates and quests for ME3.
I understand he could not really be in ME2 with the way the story went, though it was a shame.
PLEASE don’t kill him off! I would love to see him back in ME3 with a more key roll.
