Hello everyone!

I was wondering if any of you experts out there know the specific weapon name for the Mattock so I can use Gibbed and add it to my current Vanguard?  Yeah... I know that sounds kind of lame but I'm using the Reveant now and it's really fun.

Thanks for the help!

I dont think you add a specific weapon. just the 'generic' slot for it, in this case, Assault Riffle.
I've given shotguns to the other classes using coalesced editor.

For assault rifles:

BIOGame
 [SFXGame.SFXPlayerSquadLoadoutData]

find the entry 'PlayerLoadoutInfo'. there are six.

one of them is the vanguard.

change this

(className=SFXPawn_PlayerVanguard,Weaponclasses=(LoadoutWeapons_HeavyPistols,LoadoutWeapons_AutoPistols,LoadoutWeapons_Shotguns,LoadoutWeapons_HeavyWeapons))

to this

(className=SFXPawn_PlayerVanguard,Weaponclasses=(LoadoutWeapons_HeavyPistols,LoadoutWeapons_AutoPistols,LoadoutWeapons_AssaultRifles,LoadoutWeapons_Shotguns,LoadoutWeapons_HeavyWeapons))

and next time you load the game all your vanguards will be able to use AR... and in the DCS, you'll be given the option of taking the Revenant

I tried that too but when I do that the game just crash, if I put it back as it was the game open up normally. I use steam. Do you know if this can be "fixed"?

i'm on pc, but i dont think the steam version is different for this matter.

did you rebuild your coalesced.ini with the editor ? also, watch out for blank spaces or line breaks.
you only have to add what is bolded

"SFXGameContentDLC_Desert.SFXWeapon_DesertAssaultRifle" is the name for the "Loadout" drop down, and "SFXWeapon_DesertAssaultRifle" is the name under the "Weapons" collection.

I find when using Gibbed that it's easier to open the save editor twice, and load the save I want to edit in one instance, and a save with the item equipped in the second instance. That way, I can cut and paste into the save I want to edit. If that makes any sense.

Check this thread for modding using the coalesced.ini.  Like jwalker said above you need to rebuild the coalesced.ini using the ME2IniFixer (link in the thread).

The specific name for the Mattock is SFXWeapon_DesertAssaultRifle.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Kstarler!  That was pretty much what I was looking for.  I had though I could just change my Adept to a Soldier, copy the weapon loadout name, and then change back but that would somewhat of a pain.

While this is going back quite a bit I've noticed that the Mattock (or the alternative DesertAR name) does not appear in the coalesced file, despite existing in-game. Would reinstalling the DLC module fix this or am I missing something else?

Are you trying to add Assault Rifles to a class load out, or are you looking to edit the Mattock's properties? I could help if it is the former, but not if it is the latter, as I'm not familiar with how to edit DLC sections of the coalesced file.

It's the latter - trying to alter the Mattock. I can find all default (non-dlc) weapons within the file to edit but the rest are hidden elsewhere and I've yet to be able to find them.

Check the Modding thread, and ask there. DLC weapons are located in their respective DLC files, I'm not a modder, so I don't know which files those are, I just remember seeing something about this right after the Firepower pack came out. Good luck, though!
