I mean did anyone else find it as easy as I did to defeat on Nightmare? All I had to do was sit back at the edge of the area I was restricted to and fire on him with my main character set with Rogue-Archer build. It rarely even attacked me, it hit me once or twice maybe with the spit-thing that it uses but other than that it was a little too easy.

Edit: On a Note, I did This Offline so it's not recorded on the site. My Xbox Live Gamertag is Redead Nutcase, I have the achievement. You can check it out on Xbox.com or if you have Live yourself take a look.

Yep, easy as pie.

Maybe Bioware were making allowances for people who started the DLC as a new warden...? What level would one start at?

Although starting it as a new warden would kinda rob the whole DLC of any kind of significance, really.

I didn't try it on Nightmare but only Hard. It was a completely trivial fight though.

I should add that I played it with a new warden because my current one hadn't entered Awakening yet. Still easy.

It wasn't a tough fight but for some reason, it was good at finding Finn. I'd try to keep Finn at a safe range, but the varterral would move around and always land by Finn and he would get caught in aoe range. I'm sure when I get to this point again, I'll probably have a different experience, but this was how it happened for me last time.  Too bad the Varterral wasn't some kind of mage with the health and defense of a dragon.

I don't remember Finn getting into too much trouble so I think that's probably random. Or maybe it targets someone at range when it moves, and Finn would always be at range I guess.

You start as a Level 18 Orlesian Warden.

The whole boss stunk of lazy developers to me. The desing stage of the character couldn't or shouldn't have taken any longer than couple of minutes, then when you actually get to fight it the worst attack it has is stunning you and calling dragons in as backup imho, worst boss yet.

It was pretty easy on Hard difficulty. Didn't have any of the Harvester's tricks to throw you off balance and onto the defensive.

Nothing stopping you from importing a character that hasn't finished Origins yet, worked fine for me (though your codex entries are totally messed up, not sure if that also happens if you finish the game first)

I probably should get around to actually finishing awakening now that (hopefully) the gamebreaking bugs have been fixed.
