The rest of the writing team is Sheryl Chee, Jennifer Hepler, Mary Kirby and Luke Kristjanson, and they had an intern, Tonia Laird.

What happened to Ferret? Or did he only do Awakenings?

Sad Gaider is strangely adorable.

Yeah. Like a puppy or a dinosaur. :wizard:

Dinosaur Gaider, huh? Hmmm *put it with Spoony Chris and Pirate Laidlaw*

He worked on DAO too, but for some reason mobygames doesn't credit him. He's one of the leads on the DLC team now, I believe. I'm not sure what his involvement is in DA2 exactly.

Ferret's worked on DA II, along with a few others not on the initial list, like Tony Evans. And you can't forget our lovely and talented team of editors; there's four of them that have helped out in different capacities. I even snuck into the mix to write some talent descriptions.

We take writing pretty seriously.

I only wish other devs did too, instead almost every FPS has a one page script

As for characters in DAO:
Alistair, Morrigan, Zevran, Shale - David Gaider
Sten, Loghain, Dog - Mary Kirby
Oghren - Jay Turner/Sheryl Chee
Leliana, Wynne - Sheryl Chee

Actually, Sheryl gets credit for Dog, not me.

Likewise. As someone interested in writing for games having seen their potential as a medium in which to tell a fantastic story it is rather agonizing realising how little the industry seems to support writing. It's really one of the reasons I like Bioware as a company so much, everything I've seen and heard tells me they support writing for games even if you don't have a background in computing.

@Mike edit: or Mary!: Is the writing team bigger than Origins? Or is it just a case of people not always realising how many people worked on the writing side of things? =]

...Now that we're talking about talents, we'll know exactly the mathematic-thingie about them? Meaning, I didn't have a clue about how Heal was calculated until I looked the wiki. It'll be the same in DA II?

There are slightly more writers at one time on the DA team than we had on Origins, anyway.

Aha, the writers pit must have been a bit more crowded then. Which can only mean more eventful, and uneventful, adventures and mischief I'm sure. ;p Interesting, thanks for replying!

I hope there are enough tears in the coffee pot and Reeses' peanut butter cups on hand to keep everyone going.

Y'now, it would be cool if they could survive of smiles.

...Of course, they would be dead the moment DA II was announced.

Which is why the harshest critic i know of once said of a BioWare game: "The writing is solid but then BioWare just dont score points for that anymore. Bids fly, fish swim, Michael Atkinson molests dogs and BioWare games have good writing."

This is completely off topic but that reminds me of how one of my high school acquiantances considered me his "hard sell" when linking me to his work as a writer/producer at College Humor.  I got a kick out of being the guy who is apparently the most difficult of all his contacts to impress.

Anyway, I only bring it up because of my semi-solid reputation on these forums of being something of a Bioware cheerleader.  That and your post amused me, thus passing the clearly high Upsettingshorts quality standard.

Just to pimp the guy though, here's something he wrote
