Ever notice there is a great deal of leather armor... and a great deal of heavy armor... etc etc?

My mage is still walking around in the boots she got right around the time she was in the tower. Same with the robe that she ripped off Wynn. There's almost no mage gear in the game. Like none... it's bizarre. Even in the mage tower... there's almost no gear for mages... wtf, yo?

Mages don't really need gear because they don't rely on it. While warriors/rogues do.

Just stick them in light armor they have the strength for. You can typically get to negative fatigue that way if you give them the right set.

Yup, you can get a First Enchanter's robe there that is pretty good.

its balancing, mages are more powerful so they get less gear, other classes get more gear to balance not being useless compared to a mage, bioware wants people to enjoy other classes and not run around with 3 mages and a fourth wheel.

There is a helm availabe by killing a certain NPC when you get the chance that gives +2 to all attributes and another bonus which I cannot recall that is wearable by all classes.

Mages don't need any heavy armor. Creatures don't live long enough to justify it. IF they ever get hit they just heal...your mage does have healing or crafting skillz right?

My mage is a monster, she takes down all comers... but the fact is...she's still in crap gear. Part of the sense of advancement is getting "cool stuff". Alistair is tanking for me and he looks badass in full plate and a glittery sword... my mage looks like a pastel nun.

It's aggravating.

I upped STR to 12 to be able to wear studded leather on my mage. I think it was a soo small sacrifice on STATs and endurance for walking around with better armor (including "the Earth-spell"-armor) than the tank.

If you really want cool gear, Arcane Warrior is the way to go :) Then you can substitute magic for strength to qualify for equipping stuff (though the fatigue penalties get to be astounding).

If you want a new staff, have your puppy play fetch sometime. I'm still using the Mabari's...erm...gift because I think it's cute.

I thought magi are taboo. The ones out in the open have to be babysat while the outcasts are hunted and killed. It would be like asking a drug dealer to open a shop next to the convenience store.

There is no "Mage must wear robes" rule. This is not D&D :) My mage walks around in Warden's Commander Armor...

... To be perfectly honest I think the class that got shafted is the rogue.. There are plenty of great robes you can get early on and later on.. And I have yet to see a good leather armor set that can even match the robes or heavy armor.

Yeah thats the only one I can think of, and the dragon armor.. Wades Drake scale when I got it was pretty pathetic of only giving fire resistance I believe..

Agreed. Rogues were hard to equip, particularly dagger wielding rogues.

Also, what was with the piles and piles of medium armour? Chainmail (not heavy chain), splint, scale everywhere. Who wears that stuff?

This was really my only complaint about the game. A lot of the drops were crap. Push all the way through a thieves' guild, kill the boss, open the chest at the end and find a regular dagger... I can't count how many times I opened a chest and smacked my forehead. 'Woohoo! All that work for a lesser spirit balm!'

I remember one of the vendors sold a great leather armor. (Maybe it was studded armor) it had 4 nice abilities.

Wade's store also sells a good heavy chain mail, but it needs 28 IIRC strength to wear.

My favorite armor on Lilenna is Normal Chain mail, but I have yet to find a good one :/

I'm thinking melee-oriented rogues would benefit the most from medium armor...

I have to totally agree to be such an epic rpg the drops in this game are borderline pathetic, half the fun is epic loot for everyone, and also bioware you really dumbed the graphics down on the 360 way tomuch,i love the game how it is and my eyes have got used to it but sometimes when im dungeon crawling and see a horrid bland texture i give a large sigh, the werewolf textures...really?I play on a widescreen samsung hdtv 1080i with the same results.

This is a result of consoles in general having very little memory.

As in, half a gig, total. Dragon Age has to hold a lot of data in memory, and so there's not so much left for textures.

Ahhh,ok thanks for the explanation, dont get me wrong the storyline and the voice acting the dialogue and the game atmosphere packed with excellent tactic combat are all spot on,just the graphics are much to be desired.
