I've always thought dagger/longsword looked incredibilly badass, but because I prefer dexterity rouges, I always have the idea that they couldn't do the mix-match weapons thing. What do you guys think? Should I go for a dagger/longsword on a DEX rogue?

*Also note : I'm only considering this for the looks, but it would help greatly if I had decent stats.

I wouldn't use rouge on a weapon, it has water so it will aid oxidation and it's somewhat adhesive so it will stay.

On the other hand, rogues completely rock with the sword and dagger combination. I like to use Duncan's sword and Duncan's dagger at the final battle for that and other reasons.

Dammit, I feel so stupid now. But thank you for the advice.

Longsword damage scales with strength, not dex. Daggers scale equally with strength and dex. Therefore, dex builds normally use dagger/dagger. Longsword/dagger makes most sense for a strength or cunning based rogue I think.

That said, you can still make it work. Perhaps get decent strength along with high dex. Then you could wear heavy/massive armor as well. Combined with high dex you'd be very hard to kill.

I'm planning a DEX rogue with lethality, cap STR at 30? Still at Ostagar and have it at 15 right now, waiting to be able to equip The Provocateur.

You will need 31 STR for the best longswords, and I recommend 38 STR for heavy armor. If you go this route, you can skip Lethality as STR may then be as good or better than Cunning.

A dex rogue shouldn't be getting hit much. I would take Felon's Coat over any heavy armor or the Battledress until Felon's is available. With good gloves and boots you'll have about ac 25. Another 5 ac from the occasional rock salve survives even the Risen Ogre's grab. Ultimately, you add Red Jenny Seekers and Cadash Stompers - le dernier cri in rogue's wear.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that longswords don't make sense to me for a pure dex rogue. But they do if you get high strength along with your high dex. Sure you shouldn't get hit much, but now the extra armor will help against unavoidable attacks. I've played a dex rogue. Unavoidable attacks and magic are the bane of your existence. Everything else can't even touch you.

Yes, I've played several DEX rogues. I guess the only way I'll be able to try this out is to make a STR rogue w/ high dex.

There are no advantages to sword & dagger, for sure - it would be for variety's sake.

True, it's the only thing I haven't tried for a Rogue and it just looks awesome.

If you are doing it for looks I'd go massive armor - WC looks the best, imo, and works well for dual weaponry.

Eh maybe, but I'm still trying for a Roguish look.

The Battledress is available for the entire game, if you like the look. I like to use Evon's mail & Wade's Superior set later in the game for the extra armor, and this works for both DW and Archers.

It is also possible to play as a dex/cun rogue with lethality and still use longsword/dagger. Maric's Blade is one of the best longswords in the game but it has no strength requirements at any tier level.

Wade's is butt ugly and all the leather armor looks the same.  Thane helmet and Chasind robes, maybe?

EDIT:  I remember seeing a mod on dragonagenexus that applies the Chantry robe pattern to leather armor in dark red and gold.  There are some cool black leather mods, too.
