I've done way too many playthroughs.
In ME1 I have at least one character for each class, and multiple Vanguards and Soldiers.
In ME2 I have 8 Vanguards, 3 Soldiers and 2 of every other class except for Engineer(only one).
How many people actually do a second playthrough? How many with a new class?

ME 1 about 11 times, all classes.
ME 2 7 or 8.
All classes done on Insanity except Sentinel. Almost done her.

Lol, i don't know anyone who would only play through Mass Effect 1 & 2 once, considering all the paths you can go down with different characters.

I think I played four or five times.

I'm on my second playthrough as a Soldier in ME2. I might try Sentinel next time.

Sentinel is a very good class, but in my opinion it is fantastically boring. You'll go from being able to tear through enemies to just not being able to die.

Just started my 13th. All of them with soldier, others just don't fit my style.

I've played through at least once with each class, and several times with infiltrator (my favorite). Just finished my second vanguard last night and am thinking of trying soldier again. I did soldier first and didn't really like it, but I figure that now that I know the game better I might enjoy it more.

Didn't do a second playthrough in ME1, I did for ME2 though.

ME1 I played about 20 times. The first few times I tried the different classes. I liked them, but I was sticking with my personal "canon" for the rest of them, which is engineer.
ME2, I played a Vanguard first, after that I stuck to engineer.

ME1: I played warrior at first...about 5 times for level 60 and another 6 to try and get the 75% renegade...and another as full paragon for my ME2 import. and the face was perfect but the hair was the wrong colour so I made another soldier and completed it twice so i could get the submissions done.
ME2: 3 sentinel playthroughs - 4 vanguard playthroughs - 3 infiltrator playthroughs - 1 engineer playthrough - 3 adept playthroughs and 12 soldier playthroughs

Well, yes, because the way I play varies greatly between classes. Also, playing with different party members is fun (more for ME1 than ME2).
I haven't finished every game with every class, but I plan to.

I've played more times than I can remember or count. Not bragging, but I literally have dozens of Sheps in ME1 and ME2.
I find it interesting that some people buy Bioware games and do not finish them once. What did they think they were getting? Did they know they were getting a story driven and highly-cinematic game? I can't imagine ever playing a Bioware game and not finishing it.

I've played ME1 and ME2 twice each as a soldier. I'm going to make a engineer next.

Same here.
I am amazed how many of you have played this game more than 5 times. ME and ME2 are GREAT, but there are SO many great games out there that I want to try! I never have time in my busy schedule to complete most games more than once.

Yeah, I don't know how you guys play either of them THAT much. I have played ME1 through 2 or 3 times, but the first time was the only one I ever did everything in. I don't know if I will ever play completely through ME2 again, unless its after I finish ME3 (after I finished ME2 I played through ME1 so the same thing might happen)
Plus, I've got other games I want to play, books and graphic novels to read, movies to watch, etc. I have a list of all the stuff I want to do and it would take an entire year straight of doing at least one item on the list for 6 hours a day to finish.

ME1: 8 playthroughs, 5 classes, mix of genders, alignments backgrounds and LI's
ME2: 7 playthroughs, 5 classes, ditto the above.
Need to do my sentinel playthrough at some point.

Surely Not On Insanity?
The Sentinel's special power is but only just Tech Armor... well, maybe I'm the one who played like a coward
and didn't do close-quarters the way 'real' Shepards out there do it.

ME 1 multiple times but only as an adept. ME2 multiple times as Adept and once as every class except soldier.

*raises hand*
Gosh, I played ME1 so many times that I couldn't figure out which one was my "canon" playthrough in the import screen of ME2. I had to restart multiple times, and then... I would forget which one I just did... At which point I.. *facepalmed* and just went with the next one I chose. <-- Hopefully they'll fix this predicament for ME3
Admittedly, I haven't gone through ME2 as much as ME1, but that's not because I like one over the other. I think I just like taking my time going through ME2.

Played through ME2 maybe seven times now. Mainly because I keep changing my mind about decisions.

Like many others I've completed Mass Effect several times and I've ended up with a few different Shepards to import into ME2. If I were to start a new character to add to the four I already have I'd probably play through ME again. It wouldn't feel right starting a new Shepard in ME2.
