if you have nothing to contribute other than pladitudinal remarks, then i suggest that you just not post anything at all.ptibog wrote...
ME2 had boring, manichean characters so whe can expect DAII to have some aswell
On topic I dont think there will be any evil love interests

So you want a Chaotic Stupid character instead of a "skank", as you so eloquently put it? Chaotic Evil characters tend to be extremely one dimensional, and would most likely not be very interresting.ok go wrote...
Like you can't warm them up, and they will not hide their deeds. In DAO it seemed everyone turned good or into a skank around the warden, i just think a complete bastard would be interesting.

Otherwise I continue to resent the idea that somewhat realistically displayed people are good or evil (or neutral as it were, stupid D&D model). Everyone should have the capacity for both selfless and selfish acts, depending on the circumstances. Morrigan's approach to people often was actually quite sensible. If you always fight their battles for them, how will they ever learn to stand up for themselves? I'd consider her overly idealistic, cause at the end of the day, most people in Ferelden apparently lack the conviction to fight themselves out of a wet paper bag.

Jade Empire, however had quite an effective system of manipulating companions into sharing the Spirit Monk's worldview.

Except their personality didn't chagne to reflect this. Was kinda lame to have a fully Darkside Brianna still lose influence when I randomly murdered the odd peasant.Xenserrah wrote...
I really miss KOTOR games where we can just turn our party to dark side, 'make' them to be evil...dat was fun

Now with all game making experience Bioware can make realization for dat kind of system to reflect it somehow.
And yes Jade Empire has a good party system, i like dat game too

Yes I would love to see something like that in DA2

I also doubt a truly despicable companion would ever be actually "romanceable", we might get to sleep with one though. And judging by some of "ok go"s previous threads, I think he might be looking for just that. Some hate sex never hurt anybody.Seagloom wrote...
The Jade Empire system was a good start. Still, we could only turn our love interest in that game, and in the case of Dawn Star the slide to evil was gentle at best; while Silk Fox's shift towards good was also subtle. Both those characters could only go so far down an extreme opposite their standard personality. Sky could go either way though. DA2's rivalry system does have a lot of potential, but I am still skeptical we will see a truly despicable character pop up as a love interest.

Believe it or not, it was unintentional. I would like to say I was being clever, but my brain is still in morning boot up mode.

Oh, never mind me, I had understood what you meant. I just can't help but go overboard with my impertinent teasings sometimes.Seagloom wrote...

Dawn Star in particular remains relatively good, but she knows she cannot defeat the Spirit Monk and so choses a path of passive resistance and mild tolerance.

ME2 already better than DAO, 'cause at least half of the crew doesn't have "high moral standards" and don't trying to be "knights in shiny armor" dat was great relief. Besides you can even don't bring very annoying justicar with her 'code' with you and get somehow evil Morinth...Yay! So ME2 in my humble opinion has much better companions than DAO. I only hope Bioware will continue to move in dat direction...
i prefer shiny armors to red shirts.
90% of ME2 was about gathering a team of useless characters who weren't involved in dialogues and gameplay.

But just turning alignment mechanically doesn't mean anything. It has zero impact on the story.

Did you play ME2? The characters have a pretty big effect on gameplay and there is hardly a shortage of dialogue.

I thought Origins already had one? Morrigan was pretty darn evil in my estimation. About as evil as a romance interest can realistically get, really. Swinging the pendulum too far to the dark side would probably alienate more players than not, and I cannot see BioWare's writers deciding to whip up a puppy kicking, baby eating party member for a romance. Also, what fun would it be if you cannot warm them up? I agree not every evil character should find redemption, but the dynamic of a romance would need to change in some fashion to make it enjoyable.
This. Morrigan wanted the Warden to sacrifice people to make him stronger and thought it was fun to leave a little girl possessed by a demon (although you could argue that was OOC for her). It was as evil as we could get without actually hating her (and quite a few people did hate Morrigan). Plus you could argue a truly evil character would not be capable of love, so all relathionship you could get with her would be constantly replaying the making love cutscenes...
