I think all of this debating proves that at least Bioware did a good job of creating a character with as much depth as they did with Morrigan. She's not black & white, she's like a real person in regards to her moral prerogative and intentions, as selfish as they are.
Personally, for me, it's hard to distinguish anyone as actually evil, there are a few throughout history, but even then, I didn't know them and so I can't say exactly how "evil" they really were.. The acts they committed from afar seem wholly evil, but again, unless I knew them personally I can't plaster that title on them without doubt. One man's tyrant is another man's hero etc etc..
Evil is such a cut and dried term, it's too extreme to place as a title on anyone, just as "good" is too extreme. Everyone are shades of grey which is why I enjoyed the DA:O system of discarding the morality good/bad, paragon/renegade system of past Bioware games in favor of a completely open ended system.
I want a seriously evil LI

Everyone thought Loghain was evil, but if you knew what he stood for, you'd see that he was doing what he thought was best for his country.
It's sort of like terrorism. Are the people who blow up buildings and kill innocent people terrorists, or are they freedom fighters? It depends on where they come from and who is doing the labelling.

"Evil, I've come to tell you that she's evil, most definitely!
Evil, ornery, scandalous, and evil, most definitely!
The tension is getting harder
I want to hold her
head under water..."

No it doesnt, these people are evil, and so was Loghain in the game, he sacraficed thousands of lives for his ideals. Having good intentions do not make an evil act not evil. By your definition the only evil people in the world are sociopaths born with a mental defect which causes them to gain pleasure from other people suffering.
Many of the most evil acts ever commited in the world where commited with what the instigators believed where the right reasons, they had good intentions, humans are social creatures and we need to justify evil acts to ourselves in order to commit them, but there really is no justification for them. People speak of sacraficing for the greater good all the time. But who defines the greater good? It certainly isnt the greater good for the people you are sacraficing.

Anything but another Morrigan. I'm tired of the "philosophical selfishness" crap. I want someone who doesn't have to think about it nor has any desire to do so. People do selfish and cruddy things because it feels good and gives them an advantage against people who shackle themselves with silly things like morality. If you have to philosophize and spout crap like "might makes right" or "love is evil and wrong" then you are doing it wrong or are forcing it. It should be as natural as eating or sleeping.

It would appear your game had a different Morrigan to mine.
I have little doubt there was a thread requesting this anyway.
