I am used to playing Wizards and find the prospect of only being able to select 3 invocations per invocation level frustrating. I would like to try a Warlock because they sound interesting but if I play a Warlock I would like to be able to increase this limit. I am open to using the console or editing 2da if there is any way to do this. If some people could provide information on whether either of those methods would somehow work or if they won't if there are any other options (like player mods I have heard about) i would really appreciate it. In case it matters I have the OC and MotB installed and updated (I would be playing the OC with this warlock to start with).
any way to increase warlock known invocations beyond 3?

There are player-made packs you can use which give Warlocks more stuff, but in order to increase the number of invocations you can simply edit the cls_spkn_wlck.2da file. Place your custom version of this in your /override folder and it should work fine (the 2da can be found in the data folder of your install directory, or you can edit it from the toolset).
Note however that this will make your character stronger than s/he's supposed to be... if you don't mind "cheating" then this is ofc fine, but you may wish to add some sort of penalty or restriction to yourself as well to balance things out given that warlocks can use their invocations freely.

There are only about three good invocations per invocation level anyway. It would make it easier to learn the class if you can just have all the invocations. Then you wouldn't get stuck with crappy choices. You could just ignore them.

That's what I was hoping to be able to do.

The least ones are pretty lame (though having all the persistant ones could be unbalancing) but above that they get interesting. Well, there aren't that many and yes, some of them are lame, but being able to switch between all the damage types etc at will without the need for memorization would probably be overpowered. Of course, for learning the class or whatever that's fine, I'm just saying.

In my opinion, if you don't make use of the warlock's high UMD skill warlock's are pretty boring. Their focus seems to be on constant and consistent Area of affect damage via their blast. Other than some minor utility I don't think the invocations are meant to add much. Minus perhaps the almost overpowering chilling tentacle anomaly. As such, I think the best way to approach the invocations is to choose those that add variety to the blast shape and effect or affect you in some way not available in a scroll or wand "Dark ones own luck" etc...
In such a high magic world as the OC, were 20,000 gp weapons drop from every 10th monster you kill, creating scrolls and wands en masse via your other companions is no problem. As a warlock you essentially have every spell available. Without making heavy use of this ability I don't think I could stand to play a warlock.

I played the OC as a warlock and never really used UMD for consumalbes, just because I can't bear to use them at all, really. This did make the gameplay a bit boring, though (though it was easy enough that I never felt pressured to use them).
Anyway, things like the Dark's One's Own Luck don't really add anything, since they last 24 hours anyway.
