The problem with that would be, of course, if they keep it canon with your playthrough. I really hope so...

We do have situations in DA2 where someone being dead in DAO means you simply won't see them again, period. We also have situations where a living character from DAO has a different appearance based on how they ended up.

All I'm saying is that someone who is dead might be alive, if we feel it's worthy and have an explanation-- even if that explanation is a hand-wave. That is not to be taken as "all dead characters will have their death ignored". It's to be taken as "we will exert our narrator perogative if we feel it's necessary."

Maybe they all have a fade spirit keeping them alive like Wynne.
That was weird when I saw her in Awakening after my mage walking bombed her.

Err... I meant "appearance" as in how they appear in the game, not in how they physically look.

You know this is just the opportunity for us to come up with the Warden being resurrected by the Tevinter/Disciples/whatnot again.

Well, "Feign Death" talent can be used as an explanation for Zevran or Leliana's "death" in DAO.

Wow...that's good thinking.  Tricky without being too cheap.  (Of course, they'd have to introduce a "test for real death" dynamic after playing that card on the players.)

Heh, but it's kind of strange if you happened to do a deathblow decapitation on them, unless they're really good at feigning death.

That's one of these things which set apart the really good rogues from the rest...

Aw. I started immediately hoping that meant

*spoiler*

either golem Shale or dwarf Shale depending on epilogue.

That would be too cool! (But probably a hassle to try to implement.)

I really hope no one's complaining about them bringing back dead characters. Half the ones that could die were the best!

In any case, what Gaider said before about reviving the fallen -even though we were warned in origins- they have already told us about. I fought Flemeth. I killed that massive dragon she became and now I'm quite irked that she lives.

Why? It was heavily implied in DAO that she wasn't really dead.

This seems perfectly logical to me, and really, why wouldn't they approach it that way?

Implied? It was outright said she wasn't dead. Morrigan tells you as much. The Codex was only a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more ambiguous.

edit:  for some reason this didn't make my original response, so...

I knew she wasn't dead, but I had assumed her defeat was one that had eliminated her from the game since I have played through a few times and have yet to encounter her after her defeat.

Not to mention that the beginning of the story takes place before you killed her in Origins.

I'm sure he'd have fun with a Duncan-esque beard though, even if my character's first reaction would be "Ok, the beard, has to go, no clean yourself up mister!"

I"ve already had this happen, I did a decapitation on the First in awakening, and then when the fight ended he was still able to talk and beg for his life. Very funny to watch.

Wait - haven't the devs been touting the fact that DA2 is going to import our choices from DAO?

And now, someone who is dead - which I think should be flagged somewhere, no? - might come back to life if the devs think there's a good enough reason?

Really?Image IPB

I'd actually like to see that little boy Beven from Redcliffe all grown up. Obviously he wouldn't show up during the first year or so of the game but later on? *Shrugs* He sounded like he could have been 12 or 13, five years would put him at 18. He could even bring up the Warden if, in Origins, you chose to return the sword.

Just a musing is all.

Sure let's get Wynne back, lets also have Hawke get involved with the College of the Magi because of what's happening with the Liberatarians in Awakening.
