Thanks for responding guys! Personally, I want to make my city elf a psychotic bastard who hates humans so I should probably just refuse to help anybody who asks for my help that's a human. I'll kill Connor, do the dark ritual and just be a complete douchebag. :)

I played a female city elf that way.  except she romanced Leliana, was just beginning to trust people again and all; she even started listening to Wynne.  then she defiled the ashes.  And learned she was right all along to not trust stupid shems.

Edit:  there are quite a few opportunities to kill people, i learned.  And Alistair disapproves of them all.

She learned she couldn't trust shems? O.o

Really now, wouldn't she have been smart enough to know that defiling a sacred object infront of people who revere it would ****** them off? :P

Well, she was pretty damaged.  And she certainly didn't expect both her lover, Leliana at 100 Love, and her mentor, Wynne at 100 Friendly, to turn on her.  She had slacked a little in her gray warden duties for their sakes, both tracking down and killing Marjolaine and finding Aneirin for Wynne because she cared a lot for them.  That they cared more for a relic than they did for her, to the point where they wanted to kill her for destroying it (not to prevent her from destroying it, but they wanted to execute her for the act itself) was a shock.

Alistair did end up with some very nasty things to say after she made him king as well. :crying:  Fortunately, she was able to have a happy ending with Zevran.

Mine tended to use a two strikes system when dealing with human nonsense. 'Knife ears' she'd let slide. Complement that with a more provocative insult or similar, and their chances of survival are getting slimmer by the minute. Have fun defending against a swarm of undead without me then, since you clearly don't want the help.

She wasn't much of a fan of the Dalish, either. Flat ears differ little from their shemlen masters, do they? Good to know. Because clearly you know so much of alienage culture. How's that plan to antagonise everything that moves until you reclaim your homeland going? Pretty good, huh?

**evil grin** Someone should tell Avernus that. (Watches head roll away) Oops, too late.

And there's one that Alistair doesn't disapprove of! :)

He doesn't disapprove of the killing of Loghain either.  I was talking about the random killings, not justice killings.

Edit; I thought my point was clear.  I guess i should never assume that!

I was joking.

no joking here! My on-line communication skills, to put it nicely, often are terrible!

Heh, no big deal. It's hard to know on the internet a whole lot of the time. :)

I haven't played a CE past the origin and the one I played was male. I find it interesting that so many CE females are romancing Leli. When I played a female elf it was the mage origin, and she wasn't overly fond of Leliana--the conversation about how great the elven servants had it in Orlais irritated her, even though Leli was apologetic. I hadn't considered how Vaughn might impact a character's view of men in general and Alistair in particular.

Especially with some people who claim that Vaughan and Alistair look alike.

That was the biggest issue my CE had with her as well, but the fact that Leli realizes her mistake and admits how she has simply accepted a traditional view without questioning its validity is what convinced my CE to forgive her.

What I like about that convo is that no matter how aggressive you are in your responses, Leli will always apologize.

Yep, I played my city elf as a total a-hole. Although I will say city elf really is the one Origin that is just far and away a TON better to play as a female than a male.

And I'll put this here since I randomly stumbled across it on the internet:

The female City Elf origin is by far my favourite (and because it just seems to make more sense). I roleplayed her as a cunning and savvy individual with a bit of lip (she has her mother's mouth apparently), and a strong sense of justice, and unwilling to marry. "I don't want an organized marraige!" But from what happened though...well, let me just say that my female City Elf always remembered what happened to her would-be husband and never removed her wedding ring as a result. (Yep!) She took on the responsibility of what happened to Vaughn and buggers off with Duncan to become a Grey Warden though somewhat reluctantly.

She also ended up with (an unhardened) Leliana because Leliana was coming onto her. And yes, she was annoyed with Leliana's views on the elves in Orlais but did accept that she wasn't being malicious and forgave her.

Unfortunately her sense of justice also meant losing Morrigan as she couldn't bring herself to persuade Alistair to go through with the ritual and ended up sacrificing herself for the greater good. Then things really went downhill for the rest of the game. :(

She also mysteriously came back to life in Awakenings though. :P

Funny enough it's my male Dalish who started to get really anoyed with Lel's worldview.  He was all nice about it when the convo first happened, because he didn't know himself just how bad Orlesian elves have it... so he was only bothered by her making excuses for the subjugation of his people.  But then he met that Orlesian lady in the Denerim Market who told him how lucky Ferelden Elves are and how terible the living conditions of Elves are in Orlais, and how the nobility treat non-nobility like they're less than human as it is.  He was pretty scepticle of Lelliana after that.  He knows she was a bard.  He knows she's been around and seen a lot.  How could she somehow have missed the abuse?  He figures she's just self absorbed, vapid, and manipulative.

My elven mage took Lelliana's view well, but chose the snarky line about offering herself to an Orlesian Noble.  She was actually surprised at Lelliana being taken aback by that sugestion, though, as my mage was rather used to being subjugated and at the mercy of Templars.  She has a rather dark view of the world... and she totaly wanted to take Teagan up on his offer of a place at his side, though he was only flirting.  She'd gladly use her beauty and charm to climb the social ladder, weather that is right or wrong.  Of course, she'll gain new horrific perspective on that once she meets that Orlesian Lady and hears about how it realy is there.

Hmmm, interesting elf-Leliana dynamics here. I'm playing a Dalish atm who has a pretty huge chip on his shoulder with shems, and the Chantry in particular. But I think he'll end up totally falling for Leliana and regretting his bigotted views. You know what they say about love and hate...

Ps, my City Elf was quite a politician. Had secret dreams of the Dalish - until she met them and they didn't live up to her fantasies. She fell for Alistair, arranged for him to marry Anora and became the King's mistress. Try messing with her now! Gotta feel for Alistair though - doomed to be the pawn of either his domineering wife or manipulative mistress.
