Orgen and Shade are my second favorite.
Morrigan and Zevan are third.

Cue confrontation with Gheyna punching Cammen, who protests "But I did it for you!" which prompts Zevran to sigh "Now why did I never think of that?"
Easily the funniest one liner any character has come out with the entire game.

Plus redeeming Loghain is the final step in reducing Alistair to a broken wreak of a human being, so its all good.

Second favourite - secret companion. I love the way the writers created these two complex characters and how getting to know them makes them very different to the first impressions.

I'm thinking Mhairi is going to take the top spot though from what little I've seen of her thus far.

Sten I don't normally get because, well, I have a hard enough time keeping track of folks as it is.

Most favourite companions would probably be Sten and Zevran (Sten is interesting, and has sensible and consistent dialogs/opinions. And I like Zevran humour and pragmatism[?].)
I also think that Morrigan, Wynne and Alistair are done really well. (This doesn't mean that I like them so much ) ...though in fact, I like them all
Little of topic: What I would really like to see in next DA franchise are characters similar to Jolee Bindo and/or Kreia from KOTOR1,2 . (I do not mean this in a way that those two are similar. Just to be clear

Alistair: I can only handle so much Alistair before I want to club him in the face. In a friendly way of course.
Morrigan: Alright but not my bestest buddy ever.
Sten: Don't love him. Don't hate him.
Leliana: Too much bubblely happiness makes me want to vomit.
Dog: Bark!
Wynne: Reminds me of my own granny. I guess that's the point.
Shale: Birds birds birds. good lord would you shut up. other then that is likeable.
Zevran: He's a pal but his good looks make me jealous.
Oghren: !%$# it all. Lets kill them and get going to the pub.

Seems we found the same dialogue line option very amusing. I'm so proud of myself.
I think I need to make her tag along more often.
Edit: And this is why I'm glad the Aimo/Gaider cutscene didn't make it into the retail game. You're a great game writer Mr. Gaider but some of us like our Wtiches without big dramatic tears.<_<
Unless it's because they're melting.

Loghain and Sten are both awesome. I totally understand Loghain's betrayal, he only did what he thought was best for Ferelden. I like Sten's ideas on how the world should be, plus, I like the Qunari race a lot.
Erm, really? No social mobility, everyone born to a task that they do until the day they die without the possibility of change, occupation entirely controlled by class and gender?

Shale is also pretty awesome. It kind of reminds me of Bender from Futurama.

Until I know more about Qunari culture, I can't just assume that it's a caste system as-we-know-it.
There are philosophical systems which espouse you being existentially content with the role you have chosen in life, that every path in life is valid/equal because they all lead to spiritual enlightenment. I'm not sure Sten meant "you're born as this and you will be this, like it or not."
As for his "women cannot be warriors"... I have to see a Qunari woman before I can judge. For all we know, the Qunari species could have much greater sexual dimorphism than humans/elves/dwarves. It's commonplace in many animals. And in the Darkspawn, lol.

The Aimo DAO fancomic written by Mr. Gaider.
Her values are a bit warped
A bit warped? Ahahaha she just gave me something like +10 approval for slaughtering every man, woman, and child in the -snip-. I almost couldn't do it.
I specifically went to talk to her, before the deed, just to steel myself (me, and my character) for what I was about to do. Wow, she didn't disappoint. She told me exactly what I needed to hear, like she was psychic.
Shale is also pretty awesome. It kind of reminds me of Bender from Futurama.
I thought Shale was a drag queen Bender, but no. Hee.

But for best follower it has to be Alistair as he is just so awesome and cool about everything but morrigan is still good as well as she transforms from being a stuck up **** into a more nicer character when you get to know her

could you PM me about that? I'm curious.
From Origins, I'd have to say Leliana. A sweet girl with her own little quirks
From Awakening, my favorite so far is Sigrun. She's a fun, silly girl while remaining utterly BA imo. Oghren is over-the-top here. Irritating and not funny. Anders is like Alistair minus the whining, so it's an improvement. Morrigan is now Dalish, blonde, and a bit more openly self-conscious. Just got Justice, and I don't think I'll ever use Nathaniel, so *shrug*

He does seem to gain an actual head, but I don't always use archer rogues (at least as archers), and eventually a couple playthroughs will be with Couslands, so he's pretty much toast then.
