A strange notion to be sure, but not an unheard of one, as Bioware have worked on Star Wars and D&D based games in the past.
I cannot help but wonder if they will be passed other fantasy or sci-fi franchises (such as say, Harry Potter) once those VG series have reached their conclusion.

Possibly, but EA seems to moving towards new IPs (Or ones of their own creation) rather than working on existing ones.

So it seems. Which is a good thing, in my opinion.

If it's Bioware, it'll probably be good. I certainly wouldn't mind them doing another Star Wars game.

Chances are they won't. BioWare became part of EA, I believe, not long after TOR's development started, and I doubt EA would really want to do a split-deal thing with LucasArts.

I know, I know, it's just that the OP mentioned SW as an example.

As much as I sort of hate to admit it seeing as they make such brilliant IP's of their own, I'm sure that if Bioware did take on another's IP (such as Harry Potter) they would make an excellent game anyway. KotOR still stands out as being one of the best Star Wars games out there for instance.
