It'll probably be about huntin' dragons and ****. Or one very evil dragon that will swallow Nirn or maybe just Skyrim. And kill that dragon.

Anyone not excited about Skyrim just based on the teaser trailer is definitely in the minority.

Yay, I'm a minority!
While initially I rather liked both Morrowind and Oblivion (Morrowind much more so than Oblivion though thanks to the unique setting), ultimately I ended up hating both their guts. So for the moment I'm staying mostly in a "meh" mood towards Skyrim, until there's a lot more known at least.
Though to be honest a lot of my hatred probably from Bethesda's ****ty take of the Gamebryo engine, which is gone now.

As I've stated in this thread before, I liked a lot of things Oblivion did to improve on Morrowind, and I loved both games very much.
The only gripe I had with Oblivion was the lack of guilds in the game.
I hope there is more variety, to the extent of Morrowind, of guilds in "Skyrim" and that you can join guilds, fight against opposing guilds.

I never completed Oblivion, it was too big. I spent about 70hrs playing and dont feel like I was actually getting anywhere. I closed a few gates, but a short walk down the road there was yet another one.
However the start of the game and building up your charecter during the first few levels was great fun. Depending on the changes thats made in Elder Scroll V then I think I will really like the next installment.
If you followed the storyline there were only so many gates that you actually had to close, the other ones like the one you said was just a short walk down the road probably could have been left alone or closed at your whim. The ones you had to close were close to each town and the leader/king/queen of each town would ask you to take care of the gate just outside of town and then they could send troops to help you out in the final battle.
Quite often there may have even been more then one gate very close to town because they appeared randomly on the map, so you had to be careful to pick the right gate if you were on the main storyline. One past time that vet players of the game had was attempting to close all of the gates, I think there was 70 or 90 of them I can't remember. I had a player once who had closed 33 of them and that seemed like a lot at the time....

apperently it says:
For the King, For the King, for a Single Skyrim.
For the Nine, For the Wulf, for the Godless One.
As we look to the Gods, for the sole single son.
For the King, For the King, for the Dawn we'll ride. Yah![/i]
