Not too sure what to think though if it does turn out to be a direct sequel to Oblivion. I would rather it be set in a very different place and with a very different story just to keep things fresh.

I hope the same, I want a new province rather than Cyrodiil again.
But I'm so excited now, I may just cry tears of joy if this is true. Image IPB

Zenimax Online Studios is developing a likely TES MMO.

Bethesda Game Studios is developing TES V and Fallout IV.

You say this with certainty.

The next Elder Scrolls will most likely take place in Skyrim.

This page from UESPwiki has some good info regarding TES:V speculation.

Well hopefully the game works far better then it did with the Gamebro engine, but at the same time just as modable. Further more I hope it is built for the PC not the console this way maybe we will have the skill sets similar to Marrowind, I love having staff skill, axe skill short/long blade, etc. Not to mention spells that where removed in oblivion.

I don't think that building the game specifically for PC would make it less dumbed-down- Morrowind was on Xbox remember. I actually think that the TES games work very well on consoles (unlike a lot of other rpgs), and I don't think that applying them to consoles has had an effect on them being 'dumbed-down'.

Highly don't think this would happen, but if Shinji Mikami (now employed by ZeniMax) help with char design and story with the elder scroll team, would be a dream come true for me, know it won't happen tho, but still :P

I just heard that they built their own engine and that they will record voice actors soon.

I've heard that they have actually begun recording already.

I've played both versions of Morrowind and personally I like the console interface better because the PC interface is damn slow...

Granted I have the PC version and not the Xbox version, perhaps my memory just sucks

Dude imagine if we get TESV AND DA2 next year..... I'm out probably $200 on collectors editions and DLC before the damn year has even started! Now picture ME3 coming out in the October timeframe... I'm out $300 and it isn't even January.

Could not be happier. :-D

Meh, Fallout3 engine is not much better than Oblivion's

Thats becuase it was the same engine.

Then this game is going to suck, after 5 years, same engine ... Might & Magic VIII had the same fate <_<

The new Elder scrolls wont use the same engine, Gamebryo is no more.

Well, I'm very glad to hear that.

'bout damned time...

... can't possibly imagine what I would say if it was a sequel to Half Life 2, but oh well.

I would, right this minute, be running around like a lunatic. My arms would be waving and I'd be yelling incoherent nonsense.

I think I'd be that happy.

It may sound very immature of me, but I hope the game get's a PEGI 18 rating. Wouldn't it be fun to actually dismember your enemies, like in Fallout 3?

But as long as Bethesda retains the same level of freedom in the next Elder Scrolls, I'll be happy.

I wouldn't mind a higher rating than Oblivion. A more mature twist to the stories would be pretty nice. Plus it'll make the bright ending all the brighter. ;-)

And if the trailer was Alyx dying (for real this time) I think I would be running around in circles like an esctatic chicken.

Alyx for TESV. She can play the woman eaten by a polar bear.

Speaking of Polar Bears, if the rumor is true, then why has Beth trademarked Skyrim? Do you think they're going to make a spin off game?

Despite that rumours say that TES:V is a direct sequel to Oblivion, it doesn't mean it has to take place in Cyrodiil. As mentioned before, Skyrim has been trademarked (or was it copyrighted?). It could mean something. But who knows?
