Nice, I'm hoping that since their not bothering with a new engine that means their aiming for a release for this generation :)

"Supposedly going to use a hopped up version of the Fallout 3 engine."

This wasn't the first time I heard this either.

Todd Howard confirmed in his Eurogamer interview back in August that they spent the last 2 years updating their own version of the Gamebryo engine and that their next big game, presumably TES V, will be released for this generation of hardware.

Yeahhhhh.... They aren't going to fix the random game crashes in the engine are they? No, I didn't think so.

I frakking hope so.  Still amazes me how many problems Oblivion has.  Have never played a "buggier" game.

I'm a big elder scrolls fan, but I lost faith in Bethesda.

I found NV buggier than Oblivion personally.

I hardly notice them anymore, and even so, the only one that is a problem (game breaking if you would) is the occasional crash.

There are several fixes on tesnexus that actually fix some of the crashes, and even reduce stuttering; then on top of all that add in HI-rez textures and many other things.

@Rex Tremendae Majestatis If you like to dismember your target and still play Oblivion I would recommend Deadly Reflexes Version six. Which is now up on TESNEXUS.com .

I hope this game involves the profencies and the black marshes. Just the idea of exploring them would make me wet at the mouth. I will need to hurry up and beat ES 4 if they give an announcement. (drools of the thought of a new game!)

Obviously you didn't play Morrowind... :pinched:
... still one of my favorite games of all times! :o

(If true) I'm hoping for something a lot more 'Morrowindy' and a lot less 'Obliviony'

I'm hoping it'll be possible to make a good looking character without them looking slightly ill.

That'd be good. Yes...

I'm hoping they bring back the old dunmer voices.
And the cool black eyes for bosmer.
And make the male bosmer look less like creepy pedophiles

AND BEARDS

I hated how Oblivion cut most of the guilds you could join and the sense of freedom/exploration is much greater in Morrowind.

you can say that again! The lack of guilds was my least favorite thing about Oblivion. The number of guilds one can permanently join was the right amount in Morrowind, because then you could side with factions in guild wars.

Also I agree that a world with more areas to explore and more freedom would be nice. I think Morrowind went a little crazy with the walking-exploration, especially with all the damn Cliff Racers flying around in inconvenient places while you're trying to run to the nearest town/fort frantically to get some healing done <_<

I still love Oblivion, and I'm happy to hear that there is a new, direct sequel coming out

I don't know, Oblivion was too "your stereotypical" fantasy. Morrowind had... I mean, look at the creatures! Kaguti, Alit, Netches, and a lot more! Oblivion had Goblins, Bears, pixies, wolves... I prefer Morrowind's difference, even in landscape.

@Dark-lauron actually a couple mods fixed that up pretty quick, MMM, and OOO added more monsters and made the game more difficult to play infact. As for the way the characters looked well it took modders to get that fixed.

Example 1 Orchid by Honeyvanity

Example 2 Revy By Darigaz17
